If this game is even half of what the trailers promise, I am going to buy it. Great to see some lesser used TFs getting a chance in this game

I don't think anything we've seen yet shows us what the game will be like, but the cutscenes look awesome.

I continue to be impressed with the animator's take on what Cybertron looks like. I particularly love the way the surface of the planet transforms to create roads and more.

I agree! Im totally blown away by this preview! This is should be made into a animated series, i really believe it would make for awesome viewing!

Im wondering if TF3 should be set in a similar theme, unfortunately Michael Bay will just stuff it up anyway!

I absolutely love the version of Bumblebee!

Is there any other site that has it up for view yet? I don't want to have to wait to get home :o

Cullen does another top notch job. Love the way that the planet also transforms, it's a different take on the planet that could be an interesting (or frustrating) game mechanic.

I'd assume that there will be an Autobot and Decepticon campaign, so would the 6-8 main characters spotted in this video be the playable characters? (Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Omega Supreme, Megatron, Skywarp, Soundwave, Trypticon).

Anywho the game trailer is fantastic, lets hope the game measures up!

I have been informed by my friends at EB that the optimus prime figure for this game will more then likely be part of the pre order limited edition because of the success the different series of transformers have been having of recently. Not only does this sound correct but my friend who manages the store is not a transformer fan at all but still wants to play the game and knew about the figure before I did through other EB sources.

That does sound logical - Having the toy as a 'Special Edition bonus' sounds right. It's very common for Special Edition versions of games to be released with scale replicas, toys, etc like the Batarang in the Arkham Assylum SE version of the game.

In a way that's kind of sad since it will not be a subline meaning that Prime is likely to be the only toy in the series and inaccessible to any fans who would rather the toy than the game.

But if in fact the game is the prelude to the new series, then we will see figures come out, and this may be a different version of prime that will be released. Just speculating.

Either way, I wil pre-order this game anyway :D

In regards to the toy line;

In this Q&A with Aaron Archer of Hasbro and Activision regarding the upcoming War for Cybertron Game:http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/seibertron-talks-to-hasbro-and-activision-about-war-for-cybertron/17547/

He says this about the toys:
I know you all want to know about this, but there's not much to discuss. They weren't allowed to talk about the product yet. However, things that they aren't allowed to talk about are still things that exist. So, we know that there will be corresponding toys to the story and game.

This is strong evidence to support a toyline and with lots of attention the the Movies, Hasbro/Activision has been able to keep this game under wraps for nearly 3 years as the project has been in development since 2007, hopefully this means they have more prototypes in production.

But would Hasbro really go to all this effort with the game and not create a toyline?

I don't know if Omega and Trypticon will be playable characters. I would say they would be boss characters like Tidal Wave in the Armada game on PS2

It doesn't look like they are:

http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=6577

(that is, they ARE doing a toyline)

And based on the toy and the trailer, they're drawing heavy influence from some of the old TransTech designs, at least for Prime:

I finally got to watch it and have to say, OMFG :eek::eek::eek:

That looks so sweet. I hope that if they got Peter Cullen to do the voice over, that he will be doing voices in the game, as well as for a new series if this is to be a precursor.

That's some very nice cut scenes, not sure that translates into a game I want to play though. It's good to see Trypticon again though that much Im certain of. A new Trypticon toy would be cool if done well.

I rather like how it's inherited some of the darkness of the movies (and comics too), it looks like they have a proper gritty war, not some cartoony laser battle.

What we need is a good gameplay preview - We have gotten very nice trailers and intro sequences in the past only to get a horrendous game so the next thing they should show us is gameplay footage.

That's the next step for what we want. Odds are it won't be too long off with the game coming out in 6 months.

Watching it again, I like the look of Ratchet, he has the right head lol. Bumblebee kinda reminds me a little of Animated BB but with the right head as well, but it looks good. And a quick shot of Soundwave in there for good measure, didn't look out for his minions, they should be there somewhere. I just hope we all get the game we are hoping to get. We'll know soon enough.

i really hope this game turns out to be everything everyone is hopeing for ... and more!
seeing cybertron transform itself to make roads was kinda strange though, not sure i like the idea of the ground suddenly changing while i'm standing on it
for the most part i am liking the character designs so far, optimus looks great trypticon looks fantastic the only things i dont really like about the character designs so far are starscreams massive legs and how easy it was to do this to bumblebee ....

I have a theory that you could take any object and as long as it's coloured correctly e.g. red and blue for Optimus or yellow for Bumblebee, slap on the head, and you could make anything recognisable as a Transformers character :D

Come to think of it, They have already done this with Mighty Muggs :p

It's very good and flexible when it comes to implementation like all of it's predecessors. Arkham Asylum uses the Unreal engine for example.

Unreal Engine has become a bit of a standard in game developing due to its alleged flexibility. The Quake III and Doom 3 engines lost to it as an standard as they were much more limited when it came to large environments and multiple characters on screen.

Would be good to have the Unreal Engine, it works well. I recently bought the Unreal collection and haven't had a problem. Plus it's fun :p

I too doubt they would be playable characters, but it'd be a nice (and fairly awesome) change if there was a level in each campaign where you could be the city formers, with a goal to destroy or defend an area from swarms of enemies.

Must resist urge to replay TF game on PS2, trying to finish Assassins creed II!

I was impressed by that as well. And the bit where cover for Bumblebee just flips up out of the ground. Could lad to some really cool level design going on there.

I think this may add some extra adge to the game. ALmost like destructable cover in way. It could force players to take risks. As I just finished Gears of War 2 the other day, as I thought back onmy experience, I realised that I spent most of my time a long way from the action with a sniper rifle, thereby missing out on the enjoyment that the chainsaw gun provides. That is until I was given a flamethrower!

Just think, how you would have to change tactics with a shifting landscape! Bring it on!

Excitement growing!:D:D:D
