Well, I’ve been saving up my Annual leave last year so I can get some holidays during Xmas season in the Philippines. Luckily my leave got approved. Expensive though the airfare, I certainly was excited. Last 2008 when I went for a holiday, there were lots of toy/hobbyshops that have sprouted up adding more choice for the local toy collectors. Price wise, they are, shall we say a little bit less than our retail here. Also December was Xmas Toys and gifts fair time. SO many toys and geek stuff so overloading to the senses I ended up forgetting to take a lot of pics. I also went to a mini meet with members of TFPH – Transformers Philippines at the fair.

This year there are indeed some more changes namely with the addition of R-Toys. This shop alone is a very good resource of TFs toys, great robots etc. I avoided going to the department store shops – TRU, Toy Kingdom, SM as they usually have only the latest TFs. I’m more after older TFs resulting in me not getting to buy much, if any at all as I wanted to concentrate on what I have on my list. Also, since its Xmas season, there were lots of “tiangge” (flea market stalls) in the malls which were selling lots of other stuff . I ended up buying more Phil Handicrafts :P for my house rather than toys hehehe.

Anyways enough rant. Here are the pics of my meager TF haul, and some shots of the toyshops and from the fair at Megatrade Hall, some Xmas décor from local municipal hall, our backyard ( newly relandscaped – Storm Ondoy really messed it up) etc etc. Pardon if some are blurry I don’t have a very good camera  which is why I failed to capture the excitement and ambiance of being there, sigh. Anyways, still enjoy the pics guys.

Kyle : Hehehe me too, :D I was too busy looking around the toy fair I almost forgot lunch, this was taken around 4 pm (late late lunch eheheh- better late than never). Funny how you dont feel hunger when around toys. Luckily entrance to the toyfair was just $1.25 worth(conversion $1 = Php.40) and a once off payment...just get stamped so you can easily slip back in.

MV75: Thanks - we usually eat lunch there as there's always a cool breeze and our backyard mango is in fruit, so its really a nice time

OrionPax: it's one round level of toyshops (shoppesville Plus) but there are a lot more shops I didnt take from other floors and other malls ( which I didnt get to go as I was dead tired after a whole day of roaming around greenhills. Not so young anymore , sigh.

Cant recall exactly some of the prices, sorry for the blurry pics, but those predakings IIRC are around $300 the other one was slightly worth less, I think it was due to the box being faded and all.

Nice photos Liege! I was expecting Greenhills is a crowded place especially during the holidays but they seem not. It's been so long since I went there and so amazing to see them again even from the pics. In Christmas 2008 I was at the megatrade hall and there I found about R toys. I bought a couple toys from them for my godchildren and had a little chat with Robert (I was presuming he's the owner/seller). He's a TF fan himself and a very nice guy. If anyone has plans to go there, this card may be useful to locate them. I'm not sure about the email address but the website is outdated.

Yeah the website is outdated Wheel-J. I got the exact same card hehehehe:D. Greenhills was crowded, BUT I certainly dont mind with these toys around to look at. It's a welcome change of scenery for me.
If you guys do intend to go, its best during the Fair season - June (Phil Toyfair) and December ( Toys and gifts Fair) as you can haggle on the prices, especially if your buying lots from the same seller. At times they're already lower than the retail selling price so its kinda embarrassing to haggle anymore though hehehe.
At the stores the prices are fixed, although there is a discount given for cash payment at Greattoys, not much, just a few hundred pesos (say $5-7) but hey its already less than how much we see it here so its really a bargain. You gotta ask if it's original if you see boxed G1s (the ones already KOed) as they're mixed with the originals, but the salesladies wont lie and tell you if its KO or original. They dont push for a sale anyways.

Conversion rate at that time was Php40.35 = AU$1

Overlord apparently is worth more than Korean Fort Max as he is only Php30000

Some are , some aren't. AT times you get discounts like from Greattoys when you buy in cash they gave me 5% for each item. Not sure if this is standard or just during Xmas season. Greenhills has a whole lot of stores which sell from loose to MISB so the chances of you finding stuff is a lot more as well. Shoppesville Plus for exmaple has a whole round floor of collectible stores to choose from, then there the usual Greattoys and the newer RToys, its one toy store next to each other.:D:)
