E-hobby just updated with some more pics (http://e-hobby.co.jp/tf_rive/index.html)
Shockwave (http://e-hobby.co.jp/tf_rive/d07.html)!

Lugnut and Arcee aren't listed as thumbnails, but their large pictures are there!

If i didn't know better, i'd say that Arcee will slot nicely into any Hasbro collections!

Looking at these again, I think the amount of metallic paint (on at least some) of these figures has been overstated.
I'm starting to think they might be nice subtle, slightly sparkly colours (Like the green on USA Edition Onslaught) rather than the full-on metal look people seem to be expecting all over the entire toy.
While a few seem fully painted, others only have minimal applications.

Shockwave is fighting... a green and brown Optimus Prime?

A lot of the negative comments from people on the metallic paint jobs seem to be for the same reason that many of the same people disliked Henkei so much: It is much better than what they got locally.

The Hasbro ones are more screen accurate but the TakaraTomy ones are so shiny and attractive~ @.@"

I've spent too much on Hasbro Animated and have collected every toy that appeared on the show (no repaints that don't make sense). I doubt I'll be able to (and most probably won't) do the same for the TakaraTomy ones. I might only get the 5 main Autobots, Arcee and other newer designs if the Hasbro ones end up to be difficult to obtain.

Roadbuster Prime can join my Roadbuster Magnus and Roadbuster Hot Shot in the elite Roadbuster Squad.

I was kinda hoping Arcee would be more of a lighter pink

Arcee is looking good. Great news that the Japanese version is confirmed :D

I'd like to know if they aren't keeping the Decepticon symbol on Shockwave's cannon, as that was a big error in the Hasbro release for a robot SUPPOSED TO BE DISGUISED AS AN AUTOBOT.

Nice to see Arcee coming out in Japan. At least it increases the chances of finding her from a non-US source if she is not released over here :)

I know Hasbro don't like risking using pink on their Boys Toys, but Arcee just looks too red to me. Hopefully the JP picture is just the usual Hasbro stock-photo, and they give it a much more accurate pink colour in Japan.

In fact, everything is mismatched. Shockwave is suppose to be already purplish in his true undisguised decepticon colour. :)

That's a position I would take too if I had collected the Hasbro ones before Henkei. It's a reasonable position to take as these paint jobs may be far superior to Hasbro's offering in quality but are not worth rebuying all the figures.

Or better yet, an _actual_ Voyager sized Lugnut!!

The average Deluxe figure is about 15cm whereas the average Voyager is 18cm. Lugnut stands at a diminutive 15cm, which is a rip considering that he was sold at the Voyager price point (avg. RRP $45).

Lugnut's size has more to do with his transformation than actual plastic quantity don't you think?

My god you're right! It's like this one time back in 1984 when I bought a toy called Gears who cost the same as a bunch of other mini Autobots, only Gears was shorter than all the other ones! What a rip off! I'm going to write to the consumer watchdog about it immediately.

Plus Lugnut is bloody wide - much wider than your average Deluxe, which is where a lot of the plastic goes, along with his great big mace.

Come to think of it, doesn't that mean Lockdown ought to have cost 45 bucks?

Too crap.

As much as I love the whole concept of Lockdown, he was a hopelessly executed toy with too many severe design flaws.

He is fine at a deluxe price point because even at that cost he feels like a rip off.
