I normally wouldn't mention an unofficial product or upgrade that would compete with Hasbro/Takara products (for example knock-offs, masterpiece/classic trailer replacements, etc), but this concept is just absolutely amazing, as is their rational for doing so.

You know the crazy prices headmaster heads go for, especially Japanese exclusive ones, to the point where reproheads are being sold as actual items.
Well HeadRobots are producing replacement heads based off the "unusued" Takara designs published in books like TF Generations, etc. Their first one is a Cobra animal head (think GI JOE's Cobra mascot), and they show the entire design process from early sketches to paper mock-up prototypes at
http://headrobots.com/?p=208

"The value of the heads is incredible and the bodies are worthless. For Japanese exclusive heads the value is even more drastic. Certainly, we can make those bodies whole again in a much more affordable way"

I'm guessing they'll be available from the usual upgrade distributors (BBTS, TFSource, etc), but now might be the time to buy some nice Decepticon headmaster bodies to put them on, while the price is cheap!

Seibertron points out "other unused concepts for the Headmasters include the rhino, bull, and dugong. "

Who hasn't wanted a transforming dugong. If a Tanuki can be made, why not a dugong
