Energon Downshift already looks very, very similar to Wheeljack. I can't see Hasbro releasing him as Wheeljack with only a small repaint.

They re-released Classics Starscream in universe with a relatively 'minor' repaint.

Cybertron Downshift simply doesn't evoke G1 Wheeljack for me. The only other Recent car former i can think of would be Universe Sideswipe\Sunstreaker, but we're getting that as Punch\Counterpunch, i'd prefer to get Red Alert using that mold then Wheeljack.

Reckon a deadens out of Silverstreak/Smokescreen could happen... Just a diff head or if they are lazy they arguably could use the same head.

Makes sense to do a dirge out of the henkei one if they dare angering funpub(I guess thrust will be the test...)

Starscream mould we could have sunstorm, yellow rainmaker or even one of the generic seekers... The light purple ones!

Universe ironhide mould with a new head and thy could make a Soundwave...

Heck, they could make a jaz out of the silverstreak/smokescreen mould with a new head too....

I think this would be a possible good time to rerelease classics bumblebee in a more plain(no race stripes) deco too! But as they have the war for cybertron one coming too, they might not.. (or do a two pack which would rock!)

Years ago, I'd agree with this, but after seeing all of these:

Activator Bumblebee and Cliffjumper (head)
Universe Sunstreaker vs. Sideswipe vs. Alert (siren)
Universe Prowl vs. Smokescreen/Bluestreak (siren again)
Universe Ratchet and Ironhide (siren and head)
Alternity Bumblebee & Cliffjumper (head)

I'm fairly sure that for the same licensing reasons that don't allow FP to use Movie 1 and RotF molds for Botcon exclusives, we won't see any of those molds in Generations.

Anyway, I'd like to see Energon Starscream as Skywarp. I saw a digibash to this effect years and years ago and it was awesome.

It doesn't matter about Licensing to make stunticons. Feel free to correct me, but the only one left is motormaster, all of the others have been redone, either as Takara Excluisives, in ROTF or as an Asian exclusive.

Seeing as how they have no truck molds at deluxe size point they won't do Motormaster. Plus we already have a Black Prime (nemisis) and a Purple (Botcon Shattered Glass) at Voyager, which hasbro aren't doing for generations

I'm fairly sure I had this discussion a year or two ago over at TFW2005 and the conclusion that was reached was that any of the figures from the ROTF and movie 1 lines can't be used, as Paramount has an interest in all of them (Paramount is mentioned on the box of all them, even non movie characters) and thus it becomes to expensive/complicated for FP. Which is a bummer.

This applies even to non on screen characters (I wanted Wreckage as Grimlock or BW Dinobot but it just wasn't going to happen).

One would assume that Hasbro would have similar licensing issues trying to reuse them for different lines - which I think is why they're sort of just going for the morphing of the RotF line into generations, because it gives them more room to manouver as opposed to if it was a distcintly separate line.

Anyway, I'd like to see some new molds based on IDWs TF Ongoing - I'd give an arm and a leg for that new F22 seeker mold and Hot Rod's current format (based on a Pagini Zonda if I'm not mistaken - you can even see how it transforms just looking at the art).

Not sure if this is mentioned already, but I thought of a figure that would make for a great repaint/retool out of Kup. G2 Turbofire. Right alt mode, almost perfect bot mode. Just needs a splash of funky colours and a new head, and he'd be perfect.
