My Difficulty rating (out of 5) - 2
Stability - good in both modes
Poseability/articulation - Very good
Playability - Nice transformation. Quite playable in robot mode.
My Thoughts - Very good looking vehicle mode. Robot parts are exposed underneath but you can hardly tell buy looking from the side. Good looking armour tough guy with dog-like/predator face. Poseability is decent. Recommended.
Overall Recommendation Rating (out of 10) - 9 (Buy it)

thing i dont like is the doors as back kibble, can make it 'back heavy'?

Besides the obvious awesomeness, he's great too for anyone wanting to assemble a fleet of NEST vehicles (also ROTF Ironhide, Armourhide, in multiples... I'm looking at STL :D )

Yeah, this guy's the bomb in so many ways. He's incredibly articulated with double jointed elbows, shoulders and knees. He's armed to the hilt with two rockin' pistols plus a sniper rifle on his back which either integrate or stow in alt mode.

While he's got virtually no paint apps in alt mode, virtually none are needed as the right color plastic is in the right spot. The gold paint in his robot mode and the gray metallic paint on his face are tasteful and blend with the other dark colors. He's got a funky head mold.

This guy is pure awesomeness!

Kurdt pointed out a cool way to stow his pistols on his back in robot mode. I took some pics to make sure I understood correctly:

There's so many tabs and slots on the gun and on the inside of many of the kibble panels that I suspect there are many other stowable positions.

I don't mean to upset the apple cart...but I find Brawn...well...
kinda disappointing.

His alt mode is pretty sweet...but he's pretty much a shellformer
with a lot of kibble on his back and arms. I also have to state
that the hip joints on mine are really loose which added to my
overall disappointment.

May-be he just seems that way after opening the basically
kibble free Lockdown...but I just don't dig him that much.

Don't worry about upsetting anyone. We all have different tastes. I similarly found Lockdown to be unimpressive. Similar to your Brawl, my Lockdown had some flaky ball joints. Between that and my general disappointment, I actually returned him.

With Brawn, his incredibly articulation overrides any potential issues I would have had with his kibble:

i dunno if its just me, but does he remind anybody of rhinox?
i really like him and the back kibble reminds me of rhinox and he has lots of guns like rhinox.

Anyway cant wait to find one of these guys!

Rhinox isn't as kibblicious as Brawn, and also Rhinox doesn't have guns (the cartoon modified his chainsaw weapon as guns - but the toy itself doesn't have them). Despite being a shellformer I was pleasantly surprised with Brawn. I think he's quite well done and they've incorporated the kibble pretty well - as you can see from jaydisc and Vector Prime's photos, they don't impede with his articulation too much. I skipped the toy when I first saw him - but I picked him up last night and I must say that he's exceeded my expectations. I ermed and aahed about getting this toy and was honestly expecting to be bitterly disappointed by it, but I'm actually rather pleased. :)

The Odieverse already has a Brawn but if they ever do an Outback redeco I'm sold.

I really like Brawn, defiantly one of the finer movie toys, and like Gok said, his kibble is surprisingly...not that anoying :)

I took the plunge and bought Brawn.

His kibble is annoying, but he is surprisingly likable, I guess it's the posability, or the way he combines movie aesthetics with a little G1 influence.

He's not my favorite ROTF Deluxe, but I far prefer him to the bulky 4WD's like Stockade.

I feel the same way... having the kibble on his back is fine, but combined with the kibble on his thighs and his elbows, it all becomes a bit annoying (especially when you're trying to pose him and have to move it all around).

Nonetheless, despite his kibble/shellformer status, he is very likable as Lord_Zed mentions.

I love the articulation and how he is not quite Movie-verse, nor is he Classics/Universe... more like a nice homage to G1 in a modern interpretation.

I dare go as far as saying that he's the best Deluxe toy in the ROTF range... so a definite buy!

I do like the figure a lot! :) I was thinking of getting three of him in total... It'd make a cool squadron!!! and I intend to make them a classicsverse squad... that i'll have to make up! (I have two at the moment...)

Also, while not official, you *can* holster his guns where holsters would normally be! Lookit:

Use the little plastic tab in the thigh kibble, and slide that in the groove of the guns, press towards the thighs and there you go - not the most stable, but it works! And aesthetically, it's nice too! :)

As I mentioned, I got two... I am now trying to toss up whether or not to repaint them into a mini squad of two who happen to be twins(again unsure if they will be identical twins or not) OR to get a third and make them a trio... Triplet thing and developing some character bio behind them... What do you think?

I picked this figure up last night, at first i didnt really like him, but now i love him, one thing, his leg joints are very loose. anyone know how to get them tight again?

lcz128

You can coat the ball joints with something like a coat of clear paint or bail polish, let it dry and u will find it's heaps tighter! Something I have to do as well when I get the time!!

I have the same problem with my Brawn, the way i fixed it was take the leg off and slightly crushed the socket between my teeth,it slightly distorts the plastic inwards just enough. it worked well for me

^That's one hell of a way to fix a ball joint...

I think I'll use some nail polish...

God I love this mold. It to me epitomises everything I love about the movie aesthetic - it just looks lethal, sleek. It takes cues from animals as well as humanoids (the legs, the fact he has hooves), reasonably realistic alt mode.

The headscult is a pure joy.

I like the way you can make him crouch down and even place a fist on the ground. I dont think I have any other transformer that can do that!

Brawn is gun-totin' robot Awesomesauce. Most of the nest 'bots are. The only thing that would have made him better is if he were Voyager size.

<超サム~ッ> :p

IIRC the gold part is just painted on. Not actual gold plastic. And even so, it doesn't look to be that same brittle gold from G1.
