Suppose you were kidnapped

and taken to a warehouse or somewhere remote or secluded

You dont have your mobile phone and there is no phone at the place, or there is but its not accessible to you.

However there is a computer with the internet

would it make more sense to post a distress call here then emailing for help?

Sometimes it takes ages for a person to check their email, but here there are people online most of the time.

TheDirtyDigger says you should just post here Roller... he's always around to receive a distress call.

i suppose so, are you in danger now roller?
where, when, what, why and how?

roller

no im alright...for now

BUT

if i ever did need to ask for help and i was in that hypotheical situation, i would probably post here.

I was wondering if it made sense to other people

what would you do if you just had the internet to call for help?

A locally populated forum such as this is indeed better than email or even a phone call.

If you phone the police you will have to go through a typically brief but time consuming process as you have to go through their call center computer. Your captors could hear you and then grab you while you are on the phone before you had a chance to explain your situation. A forum post is much more 'silent' and reaches a lot of people even when you are away and they can call the police for you.

The BIG question is:

Why are you thinking about yourself in this situation?

Are you seriously in any sort of potential danger? Are the Liberal Party thugs after you?

Or is there a scary black police car in your neighbourhood asking people about glasses?

If you are near a computer, then you must have a monitor. Which I would smash the captors head in with. Or possible strangle with the electrical cord?, Chuck Norris styles

...Then I guess you could always just email someone for help

Either or.

By the way, for those of you wondering, Chuck Norris doesn't actually wear a watch... HE decides what time it is.

Even the dimension of time is too whimpy for Chuck, he decides what reality it is.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is based on a true story: Chuck Norris once swallowed a turtle whole, and when he crapped it out, the turtle was six feet tall and had learned karate.
