Ya know... other than John Williams. ;)

Because the poll only limits 10 options I've chosen 9 popular composers and left the 10th option for "other." :)

It was a tough call between Beethoven and Mozart for me, but I just have a particular fondness for Ode To Joy and For Eliza, so I went for Beethoven. :) They are all great though.

An honourable mention to Carl Orff's "O Fortuna" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrML6s1wNHk) -- a song that not only cries "Excalibur!" but also coincidentally sounds like it could be the name for some posh Chinese restaurant :D

LOL! :D

If Williams was an option on the poll, I'd have voted for him. I love the guy's work on Superman.

I don't have a great deal of time for classical composers, but I do have some knowledge... the reason I voted Beethoven was due to his steller contribution to the movie 'a clockwork orange'... love me some ultraviolence.

The reason I voted for Beethoven is for the Allegretto from Symphony No 7 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdfNTO_o-3k). Which accompanies the final kick in the balls from a certain notorious ultra-violent French film.

Otherwise Erik Satie's Gymnopedie No.1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJzYF8FXmRE&feature=related) is my favorite individual piece - orchestrated preferably, otherwise piano, wind or strings. Even the Cafe del Mar remix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdk6P2ts3H4&feature=related) is sublime.

Although I did appreciate Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the fine motion picture 'Bill and Ted's excellent adventure' so it was a close call.
