is double-seald (double-taped) still "MISB"?

I bought a takara animated voyager OP and left it unopened for a month. And now I found it is obviously double-taped with the first layer tape been cut off.


Does this matter?

Depends where you bought it. But I've gotten a few toys that had been double taped and I trusted the source. They do do it for some reason sometimes at the factory.

Seems common with takara stuff. You should find that the 2nd tape is the same as the 1st tape.

Heaps of my imported stuff is like that especially the old TFC reissues. Could be customs???

Yep, a lot of Takara stuff that I have in my collection are double taped and a few do not have any tape on them at all.

My 20th Anniversary Predaking reissue has double tape which annoys me slightly but not enough to spend the insane amounts of cash a sealed one goes for now.

I highly doubt that! My experience with Customs is that after they check your items they very hastily and carelessly repackage your stuff. Like my Machine Wars Megatron card which got folded in half. :mad: :(

I'm just grateful if my stuff arrives unharmed after a Customs inspection. I would be most surprised if they bothered to reseal something once opened.

Yeah, Customs don't bother re-taping boxes. As Gok mentioned, when customs opens you package it's not as subtle as double tape, you clearly notice it was them.

Yeah I got a box in recently and it had yellow customs tape all over it!

It was a huge box for about 5 small items so I guess thats why they thought it was a bit odd.

As for double taped - I can only talk about Original G1 and Skull Cruncher & AFA says NO.

ud be surprised. customs have a variety of different tape. their job is to unpack and pack it back up with out anyone noticing. this was on some tv show few years back. also if they do find something they can repack and let the criminals take it back to whoever and charge everyone;)

I don't think its customs.
I just bought a Recon Ironhide from Big W and it was double taped, with one layer having been cut.

like MV75 said, it depends where you bought it.

My bro in-law bought a double-taped VF-1A (on my behalf) in Japan during his last trip.

When I received the VF-1A, it was then apparent to me that the toy has been opened and played with as some of the stickers have been applied!

So just be careful :)
