I bought my first TF2 Leader Optimus toy just on 11 months ago while at BotCon in May last year. Since then I've also bought the black JP version and the 2-pack 'Buster' version... and yet, still hadn't taken the time expected, to sit down and transform any of them (too darn busy to set aside 30 odd minutes to tackle it).

Until now.
I grabbed one, today while watching TV, and took someone's suggestion of taking photos of my attempt.

About 30 minutes, and several photos later, it's finally done. I've conquered the TF2 Leader Optimus Prime mould. And it wasn't as difficult as I was expecting. The 'difficulty' was just the size and weight of the toy getting in the way of a fairly simple transformation (basically, Optimus is leaning forward to touch his toes, and panels hide everything).

So below are the seven photos I took (yes, it is actually the 2-pack version I got in January, but is the same mould plus gun), showing every five minutes. I actually got a bit stumped towards the end when I had gaps next to the cab doors that I couldn't close, but then realised that the gun halves go there.

Now I might go and transform the other two Optimus toys, including the one I actually bought 11 months ago...
Gotta do the merged Jet Prime mode too. Never enough time to just sit and play anymore. :(

It does look like an awesome toy. I only passed on him because I got The Fallen which is voyager size to go with my voyager sized Prime and Megs.

this reminds me that I'm yet to pickup buster prime from kwong.

Thanks for showing those pics. All along I thought even the smokestacks are chromed.

Probably be another 11 months before they are back in robot mode and on the display shelf. :p

I think the black one looks best as a truck and would display it that way.

The bonnet part that hooks into the ribs was a worry, I definately used excessive force to get past that part. The unclear instructions, weighty dangley transformation, panel alignment and cost/fear of breakage (Buster OP) all added up to a longish first transformation. An awesome figure though!
