Who's your favourite Youtube TF reviewer?
I had a PM chat with griffin and this thread's meant to just know who is your favourite, not to badmouth and argue over who is 'best'. Every reviewer on Youtube has different styles and we have different preferences. Just want to see if there are any other TF reviewers I've never heard of as well...
So my favourite is Barutazaru (aka Thew's Awesome TF Reviews), he is hilarious.

Peaugh is a great reviewer, everyone's probably heard of him cos he's frequently on the TFW2005 front page - I wonder how he gets some toys so early...

Vange1us is the only one I think is any good - he has a great voice, a sense of humour and takes the piss out of himself with closed captions.

vange1us since his reviews are the only that don't bore me to tears!

I absolutely love Vange1us reviews.
All of the others absolutely bore me to tears, but then I've only seen the more well known reviewers videos.
Vange1us is the only one that I'll sit down and actually watch the entire review for, the rest I usually stick on mute and watch the transformation (for if I'm curious about the transformation of an upcoming toy or if I'm stuck on one that I've got).

I'd have to say that my 2 favourite reviewers are:
1. Peaugh - I think his reviews come from a passionate & informative point of view.
2. Vange1us - I feel his reviews come from an Entertaining & Promotive perspective.
Both clearly set a standard in TF reviews with contrasting approaches that give you a total perspective and opinion on figures and I like the fact that they seem to plan out most of their reviews before actually posting them and if need be, make follow up videos if required.

Peaugh
seen a few other reviewers' works but only if peaugh haven't reviewed a particular toy. His reviews are nice and not too long (rarely over 15 mins), gets into transformation of toy pretty quick (my main interest) and always tries to find good points in all the toys (so when he says a toy isn't that great, I believe him), his reviews has their funny moments

A toss up between Vange1us and Thew, with a close third being Peaugh.

peaugh is decent.
Btw, what do you guys know about YouTube's revenue sharing? Is there a catch to it?

The Partnership Revenue Program?
From what I know is that if you are a Youtube partner, you can put ads on your videos that for whenever someone clicks it (they're basically paying you for having their ads on your videos), you get a like a few cents. You'll need thousands and thousands of clicks to get hundreds of dollars.
Also you'll need to be a partner in order to be eligible for revenue sharing, to become one you need to have videos that are 'unique', i.e. do not have anything copyright, a high amount of views in at least one of your videos and plenty of subscribers (I've seen about 1500 as the rough point you are eligible to become one)

There is a british reviewer user name is runespace, or runescape, can't remember.
He always review nearly all disadvantages of a toy while peagh would say much about it.

SkyWarp91: It's called the YouTube Partnership Programme. Apparently they put ads on my vids and I get money from it.
I don't care if it's not much -- I only made my YouTube vids as a hobby and never intended to make a cent from them, so anything I make is a bonus. :) Just wondering if there's a catch to it or anything I should beware of before agreeing to it.

Peaugh and Vange1us are my two favourites. Peaugh because he doesn't screw around much with details such as what colour the figure is (because we can see that!), and Vange1us because he's very entertaining.
There was this other guy, Sean Long or something like that. Guy was terrible, sounded pathetic. I only watched him because he had reviews of the Animated Dinobots before anyone else did.

I second Barutazaru (aka Thew's Awesome TF Reviews) as my favourite reviewer.
I can usually watch his reviews at work - they're nice and short and usually funny (although he has gone a bit quiet lately)

Yay, a fellow Baruazaru fan! He's probably been quite as he has fainted after getting 1500 subscribers!

This thread is not meant for insulting/hating other Youtube reviewers.
SeanXLong is a Youtube reviewer aimed at the much younger population of Transformers fans. His reviews, though not as informative nor straightforward like Peaugh, has spirit. He's like a big little kid and when he reviews his Transformers you get that real sense of the fun and innocence of being a child. What you consider as him sounding 'pathetic' his fans consider sounding like a the little kid inside all of us that likes Transformers toys that we can resonate to. As I said, everyone has their own preferences to who they watch. Some people including myself respect Peaugh because he is a very professional Transformer reviewer yet we still consider his reviews sometimes boring.

I don't think SilverDragon was specifically being insulting or hateful toward XSeanXLongX... just critical (being critical is not necessarily the same as being insulting or hateful).
I got nothing against Sean Long (I occasionally speak with him on Tformers), but I think his reviews are like the majority of reviews on Youtube... they don't actually review the toy. Rather he tends to just showcase them. They're decent showcase videos, but in a review you're meant to be critical, evaluative and analytical. A lot of these reviewers remind me of the episode of The Simpsons where Homer became a food critic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guess_Who%27s_Coming_to_Criticize_Dinner%3F) where "Homer's love for food causes all of his reviews to be exceptionally great (including one rating of nine thumbs up)" -- I find a lot of Youtube reviewers are like this.
It's for this reason that good reviewers like Peaugh stand out amongst the others. Peaugh doesn't just showcase the toys in his videos, he actually _reviews_ them with a critical, evaluative and analytical approach. If he says a toy is good or bad he justifies his opinions well. Again, just as Homer lost his credibility as a critic when he kept on proclaiming everything as being excellent, I find it's the same with toy reviewers. As Syndrome from The Incredibles once said, "Everyone can be super. And when everyone's super... no one will be."
In terms of "sounding pathetic"... I think it might be better to say that Sean doesn't have a good public speaking voice. He sounds like he's constantly whispering into his microphone. In order to engage your audience you need to project and sound confident and enthusiastic about what you're talking about. Again Peaugh is quite good at this.
My main criticism with Peaugh is his handle... how the hell do you pronounce that?! "Pew"? "Pee-yew"? "Peeeerrgh"? :p I like how he occasionally interjects a bit of humour too - like when he comments about his hairy arms obstructing the view of a toy. Heh. ;)

Bingo. It's not that I hate him or anything, it's just that there's some aspects of his reviewing style that could be improved.
If you wanted to see actual hate for Sean Long, start a thread about him on 4chan's /toy/ board.
Anyway, back to reviewers we like.
I pronounce Peaugh 'pee-yaw'. The only time I hear it pronounced is on the TFW2005 podcast, which uses the same pronounciation.

I can't remember which review it specifically is, it might of been his WFC Optimus competition vid, but I've heard the man himself say it and it sounds like what Silver Dragon said: "Pea-yaw".

I've been watching youtube reviews for quite a few years now, Vangelus is my favorite but it's hard to pick between him and ILoveMess aka Ray.
ILoveMess pretty much is my inspiration for collecting G1 figures again. He had so much love for G1 and was damn funny. He also did a song called "Unknown Transforming Robot" which was hilarious. However a while back, maybe 6+months, he disappeared off youtube and took down all his videos. Apparently he's on hiatus while he's working on his band, but he'll allegedly be back this year. Keep an eye out for him if you haven't seen his stuff.
Then Peaugh (pronounced pee-aw IIRC) and Thew are my next favourites. Peaugh isn't focused on entertainment, but he gives you a good look at the toys and will point out if something is particularly crap or particularly brilliant. He occasionally does some relatively easy mods as well which are good inspiration. And Thew's just a rocking combination of metal and nerd. Rocktastic :)

On the pronunciation of Peaugh: he pronounces his username at the start of this review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31apzuoXPxw

Haha he did this recently with ROTF Scattershot as well. The rest of the time though, he's still okay, in my opinion. Sometimes he's the only person to rely on since his coverage of TF figures is so extensive.

Peaugh to me is only worth watching on mute, if you're stuck on a transformation.

Dyansis and TheCollector75 are also some of my favourite TF Youtube Reviewers.
Dyansis is good because his reviews go into FULL detail, but he has a shocking cam and most of the time it's him on camera and not the toy.

I don't like peaugh. He seems unfocused and doesn't seem to know enough about the toy line history to understand tributes on newer toys. The few times that I watch his reviews, I find myself rolling my eyes at him missing the point of a feature or not understanding why it's there.
