Just a novelty thread - there are a lot of (presumably) unintentionally humorous TF names out there, from Erector to Windbreaker. The only ones that immediately spring to mind for me are Discharge, Erector, Slapper, Slag, Backwind and Windbreaker, though I'm sure there are many others which those more knowledgable than me will add. Even non-toilet-humor names like Ratbat, Horri-bull and Fangry are pretty silly when you stop and think about it.

Which one/s do you think is/are the funniest?

Scattor - Not funny but his name could be interpreted that he shoots poop at people.

Hun-Grrr, not exactly funny, but a play on words so to speak.

Hotrod - rude connotations :p

Hooligan - I dunno I just find that word funny :D

I must admit, I chuckled a bit when I saw a Transformer on the shelf called 'Dropkick' from the last Bay-verse movie line. :D

Alan (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Alan), Kirk (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Kirk), Abel (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Abel) and Rodney (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Rodney).

Also: Hawkbreast, Bisonbreast, Eaglebreast, Jaguarbreast, Lionbreast, Rhinobreast, Tigerbreast and Koumoribreast (Koumori means "bat" in Japanese - so it's basically "Batbreast"). Then there's Death Cobra's unnamed partner, whose name was probably something unimaginative like Cobrabreast. Or maybe it was something different like Serpentboobs. ;)

Kup is also a weird name. WTF is a "kup"?! (o_O)

Then there's moments of Fail English, like Beast Wars' Lazorbeak (someone forgot how to spell laser) and Wind Sheer (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Wind_Sheer_%28Armada%29) (should be spelt "Wind Shear" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_shear))

It's short for picKUP truck. You know that.

It's still weird, and the first thing I always thought of as a kid was something to hold my beverage in. I know they were trying to be clever, but I don't know if it worked that well.

And then there's Arcee.

I think Flint Dille thought the same thing, hence the gag in Five Faces Of Darkness about him being Teaspoon, Cybertron's chief dishwasher.

And then there's Arcee.

After seeing the film, until I read her profile in #4 of Transformers Universe, I thought her name was R.C. as in 'remote controlled' or 'radio controlled'. Not a big step forward for feminism, as Furman obliquely 'commented' on in TFUK #234.

Not in 1986 I didn't! I'm not sure when I became aware of that, but I don't think it's immediately obvious (as evidenced by Lord_Zed's and 1AZRAEL1's comments).

Other amusing names:
+ Nexus Maximus <---while the name itself isn't inherently funny, the circumstances surrounding it is hilarious. :D
+ Dark Scream's original Japanese name is Gildo. Gee, what could that rhyme with?! I noticed that TFwiki (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Dark_Scream) conveniently spells it "Guildo" - but anyone who can read Japanese can see that it's pronounced as "gildo." Only one letter away from being oh-so norti. ;)
+ Gusshar's Anglophone RiD name is Slapper -- and we all know what that can mean. :D
+ Night Slash Cheetor. It's Cheetor evacuating his bladder (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRx0bup8ubM) after dark!! (^O^)
+ RiD Prowl's voice actor's name is Wankus (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Wankus) -- which _is_ actually an amalgam of the words "wanker" and "doofus"... the RiD ending credits actually list him as "Wankus", and not his real name! :D And if you think he's the first adult film entertainer to become a TF voice actor, think (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Masashi_End%C5%8D) again (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Ayumi_Nagashii). ;)

It was in the aforementioned Universe #4, which came out in newsagents here in the same month as TF: The Movie. But you're right, it's not obvious at all, particularly since it was my first exposure to the phrase 'pickup truck' and I didn't actually realise what one actually was until years later. I thought he was like a garbage truck that picked things up from the side of the road.

In Australia, he should have been called LIT. (short for utiLITy. Ute would be too obvious. :p)

Bahaha that has to be the funniest, I actually burst out laughing at that one.

Isn't there also Browner?

At least there wasn't another robot named Pants who combined with Browner to form Brownerpants.

Browning (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Browning). So called because he transforms into a Browning F1910 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_model_1910) pistol. ;)

Well, I'd be certainly browning my pants if someone pointed it at me without telling me it was a toy.
