Repaint of ROTF Bludgeon as Banzai-Tron (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/first-image-of-transformers-banzaitron/18472/)

Now I love the mold, but I don't know if I like it that much to buy another one. Looks good though.

That is a nice looking repaint (although the photography is obviously enhanced :p) -- I like how the blades are a different colour from the hilt. The problem with that is that the paint on the blades might chip when drawing the sword in and out of the saya (scabbards). And if it's only the handle that's painted, that might chip too as the Bludgeon mould has uber-tight hands that bite in.

It's a neat concept and good looking repaint, but I agree... I don't love this mould (nor the character) enough to get it again.

I have to agree.
It's nice but looking at the photoshopped picture, I don't really want to purchase a second version of that mold unless I have the spare cash burning a hole in my pocket and there is nothing else around that I want (which is highly unlikely ).
However, that could all change when I see real photos of the final version. :D

Not bad (even though they're digitally enhanced pics)... will most likely pick it up once it's released (I'm a fan of the Bludgeon mold and don't mind redecoes)

(Btw, is it just me or does he look Darth Vader-ish in this colour scheme? His sword also looks very much like a light saber with the contrasting blade/handle)

I don't know about you but to me, this repaint stinks.

Really Hasbro? Not a Mindwipe repaint with a Skystalker-to-Razor-Sharp repaint?:(

I'll be picking this up... unless I can find a cheapenough botcon version

doesnt look banzai-tron-ish enough for me.

I do love the Bludgeon mold and since they only cost AU$20 in HK, I bought 2 of them. Heh.

Moved and merged topics into movie section, as it seems the yellow packed toys will still be part of the Movie universe (this toy isn't Deluxe sized, so won't be part of Generations).

Meh. The pics are so heavily photoshopped it's hard to tell... but I rarely buy large repaints so I'll skip this one. Nice to see an Actionmaster character though.

Interesting choice of character for a repaint. I can't really think who else they could name the repaint as anyway

Hasbro=Subtle as a Sledgehammer...

"Now that loads of people have bought Bludgeon, we can show them the upcoming redeco! Obviously we can't show it BEFORE we release Bludgeon, because then people can CHOOSE their favorite deco before purchasing, and that just ain't how we roll."

Banzai-Tron... having a fat day. I liked him better when he was a boat. But I'll probably still buy this.

So, how long until they do a Thunderwing repaint? :B two is never enough you know.

Ohnononono, they MUST make a NEW mold if its Thunderwing!:eek: The Character Deserves a whole new mold just like Bludgeon, He's one of the coolest later characters ever in Tf lore (comics wise) like Bludgeon. And he must be a plane of some sort heheheh

I kinda like this repaint, the black and green, make for a more sinsiter looking TF than Bludgeon.

However as has been said, the Bludgeon mold isin't quite awesome enough to justify getting two, unless there's some signiifcant discount.

There's already one listed for sale on eBay (although listed as a Botcon exclusive and at a ridiculous price! )

I think it looks a lot better in those photos than the ones posted earlier. But yeah its a stupid price

Does look alot better, but still, I would rather see it in person to make a judgement whether it's worth it to buy it again.

I'm impressed that the paintjob doesn't look that bad at all, and the main crappy plastic really is the tank treads. Kind of tossing up if I should just get the botcon one though...(bludgeon is this tank and I don't think I want another character as this mould...)

1AZRAEL1

Apparently it is not just a Botcon one, it is supposed to be getting a wide release.

griffin

Looks like I guessed wrong - this looks to be a BotCon toy after all (according to its packaging in the ebay auction below). I guess FunPub can use movie line toys, as long as they aren't in the movie. It still seems a bit too soon for reusing Bludgeon (another 'rule' they once mentioned was not being allowed to use anything less than a year old).

Looks like they are recycling BotCon characters after all...
(Could mean that the Slicer redeco is possible as a BotCon toy if they are touching on Actionmasters in their Gen2 theme)

Also wanted to add, that the Banzai-tron toy is being listed as general release on a wholesale toy website, so this could just be a chinese factory worker who has access to the botcon baggies, and packed up a different toy to sell it off for more.

I guess we wait until June for the convention, to see for sure.

SharkyMcShark
4th May 2010, 01:45 PM
Griff I'm 99% sure that it's a retail toy, as we
saw listings fromtarget that included voyager banzaitron a few months ago

1AZRAEL1
4th May 2010, 02:18 PM
But that could always change, however unlikely.

Best thing to do is just wait and see what happens when Botcon comes around, or they announce something.

SharkyMcShark
4th May 2010, 02:57 PM
Everything points to it being general release except for the mistitled auction. Literally every other factor points to it being general release

1AZRAEL1
4th May 2010, 03:02 PM
True, but the bag he comes in clearly has Botcon 2010 on it.

I'm sure this would have come to light with the Botcon organisers, so they will likely make an announcment soon.

Really it is all just speculation until we get official word from Hasbro or Botcon. But the more I look at it, the more I am inclined to buy it if it is a Hasbro release.

SharkyMcShark
4th May 2010, 03:34 PM
To be fair i didn't see the bag stamp as I looked bleary eyed at the auction this morning..

If it is a botcon figure it breaks pretty much all the rules we thought we knew about them

Odd about the Botcon baggie, but I can see the factory workers taking a bit of product from this line, a bit of product from that line and wham - instant confused fandom.

Looking at the real images - like this repaint over Bludegon, but I am likely to get both. One can't have too many tanks
