Noooice. I wonder if this means we might be seeing an Arcee toy in the WFC range. That would be cool

I love my Animated Arcee but it's a bit too 'cartoony' to fit in with my Classics.

It is possible that this might be Elita One though.

Looks like it was inspired by Energon Arcee. Go forth, kitbashers! ;)

At least they are including the Fembots and maybe they will explain why there is so few of them and why they seem to be constantly in hiding?, apart from the obvious Toy Demographic explanation.

A new Interview:

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/interview-with-makers-of-war-for-cybertron/18531/

The thing that is bothering me the most is that these guys talk as if they are 'pioneering' Cybertron's depiction. They speak as if they are the first people ever to show us what Cybertron looks like.

This is my main fear when it comes to the story - They seem to not have looked at anything beyond the G1 cartoon and seem completely unaware of anything else.

Kup, I'm not honestly one to question one who knows a hell of a lot more than myself, but I believe that High Moon Studios has looked well and truly beyond the G1 Cartoon as a spectrum to shape, mold & construct this narative.
The narative of which is easily backed up by the fact that Optimus is not even a Prime at the beginning of this game, which apart from Orion Pax's mentioning no other pre-existing prime was ever mentioned in the Western Cartoon apart from Primus himself though he was never physically shown.

All you need to do dude is watch just a couple of the videos that interview or what not the developers of the game to realise that they have taken every bit of G1 continuity and source material into account in order to construct what they have.

I speak for myself when I say that the WFC game seems to be the most effective and comprehensive entailing of the Pre-Generation 1 Cartoon stories and happenings that have ever been given serious consideration.apart from the numerous comics and novels that have been delivered since 1984, i.e. I honestly really do believe that the guys behind this game are every bit as passionate as we are for this near on 30y.o. franchise.

I am not questioning their passion nor saying that this game is destined to be bad due to my stated observation. As mentioned by me before, I think War for Cybertron looks excellent and I am very much looking forward to it. However my nature is to question which means even if I like something very much, I am still going to mention things that don't seem right to me - Even if it goes against the grain.

I have seen every single piece released on this game - All videos and every time they comment about previous fiction, they claim that Cybertron has never been properly seen before nor any story ever been told before the arrival on Earth. I know that to be untrue and that is why I raise my concern about how much scope there was in doing research when making this "pre G1" story.

High Moon says that their version of 'pre Earth' Cybertron is definitive because this era has never been touched upon before in detail. Anyone who knows a bit about Transformers should be aware that this isn't the case.

Your comments are based only on the Sunbow cartoon just as High Moons research does not seem to have gone beyond that. Every time they mention research into Transformers history, they only mention the G1 cartoon, not the comics or toy bios which over the years have proven every bit as influential in shaping the overall G1 story. For me, G1 is not limited to just the cartoon but also the comics which ran from 1984-1993 as well as a whole comic series dedicated to this very era known as The War Within. I think The War Within was pretty detailed in depicting Cybertron before Optimus became a Prime and before Earth.

If they wanted to retcon what was done before - That's fine, they are welcomed to do that as it has been repeatedly done in the past. What concerns me is that they act as if they are the pioneers of the pre-Earth story. This forces me to question how much they really know about Transformers lore and the scope of their research.

With all of the glimpses we've seen of Cybertron over the years, was there one version from the shows or comics that inspired the version we'll see in the game?

Tough question. We drew elements from the “War Within” Transformers comic series as well as from the original TV show – G1. But we were also influenced by some of the great sci-fi movies like “Blade Runner” and “Aliens.

This is certainly much more encouraging in regards to story prospects.
