That's damn cheap for a new release game. I've picked up games at that price before on day of release at Big W (Tekken 6, Bayonetta, Darksiders), but for a place like EB to even advertise a price like that a month in advance, that's nuts.

I reckon that you probably will be able to unlock these 'exclusive' characters later in the game, it's just a sales ploy to have them unlocked immediately upon purchase depending on where you buy it from.

there shouldnt be any difference between the console versions. but DS versions are split into 2 versions (autobots and decepticons) like the previous transformers the movie games, and like megaman and pokemon. gameplay should be similar but you get to pick more than one transformer per stage to switch between instantly during play.

Spoke to someone at Activision, and they said they can't give out Recommended Retail Prices... they said that I indeed have to go and do the work myself by researching pre-order websites and checking out different stores. :mad:

Was hoping to give you guys some preliminary idea of what each version of the game will be priced at, to save you some time shopping around. But seems we have to do all the work. :mad:

I will be changing the release date in the first post though, as they said its out on Wednesday 23rd (apparently they release all new games on wednesdays, kinda like movies are released on thursdays).

They also have no idea when the game will be added to the AUS Activision website, but should be there eventually. :rolleyes:

Are any of the versions, have the equivalent of 'region coding' or ntsc/pal only?

If foreign versions of all formats of the game is the exact same as those released in Australia, then importing would be recommended if cheaper.

Since I'll be in America at the time, I'd buy one there if it is cheaper and exactly the same as our release.

I think the pc and nds versions should be fine, I think the ps3 is supposed to be region free too, but I dunno about xbox.

PS3 is region free, but apparently there are issues with DLC being compatible with that region's store only. So a US game will work on an AUS PS3, but you will need to get the DLC from the US PS Store as far as I know.

The PAL releases from england are exactly the same as we get here, so there are no issues at all.

I believe Xbox 360's are region coded, and I know Wii's are. Finally I heard a rumour that Nintendo DSi's are region coded, but have no proof either way.

Best bet would be to import from UK for Xbox and PS3 I guess

Down my way 5FDP, EB is absolutely horrible for that but the JB stores are actually pretty well on top of things - most of the time. :p

I myself wouldn't hold any of the stores to their word on the release date, especially if EB pulls it's usual stunt of breaking games embargo date to try and get a jump on the competition - I don't know why they do though because their prices are bloody highway robbery!. :mad:

PC gaming is, unfortunately, in a serious downturn, and this is a very consoley game as far as primary target audience is concerned.

I suggest getting a PS3 or one of upcoming new 360/soon-to-be price dropped older model 360s if you're gonna be playing this game online.

Went to GAME today and asked about the PC version. While they didn't have it in the system (they had it for Wii, 360 and PS3-strangely not for the DS versions), the guy I was talking to said that it was a pattern nowadays to release the PC version of a multiconsole game a bit later than the other versions.

So there is at least some hope. The lack of the DS versions being in the store's system is also interesting.

Most likely so they can up-size the textures and add in the functionality of the latest directx goodies and a few other pc specific things such as controllers, etc. :) Probably the packaging of the files too so it plays from the hdd.

They like to rush the console versions these days as they pay back the ROI the fastest from the obscene prices they get away with charging for them. PC is lower priority at first, but the end product is superior.

This way I can buy it from JB+comic and still have the DLC code. You could probably ask your local EB to do this, but they may not let you because it's kinda not allowed. But, if you pre-order both, buy both, get both bonuses, nothing can stop you from using EB's 7 Day Return for a full refund, and if they ask for the code back, say it's already used and it's not part of the purchase price, so they can't deny refund based on that =o)

For the PC game, it's best to wait a little longer (a week or 2 after release) until more sellers get stock of it and then you will see it at around AU$30.

The above has worked for me in the last couple of years with games like Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect among many others.

When it comes to PC games having a down turn - I disagree with that.

In the last couple of years we had a massive pick up in quality with several Top 10 games being PC releases or the 'Premium' version being the PC version. However I will agree that the local PC retail space has decreased dramatically.

My guess is that most PC gamers have worked out that its a freaking rip off to buy games at local retail prices and have smarten up to either downloading them (legally like STEAM) or are importing them from overseas. Naturally, to the local video game store, it will seem as if PC games are not selling that well.

When you look at International Gaming sites, the PC is still a major gaming platform.

I'd also be interested to hear about the achievements (or, in your case, trophies). Any good ones? Are they evenly divided between the campaign and multiplayer or do they focus on one in particular?

sorry guys I have finished the game both campaigns on hard.

Trophies/Achievements: They are all easter eggs names that relate to the Transformers universe I wont spoil. They more lean towards Single player

Story: It was fantastic I loved it. It felt a true transformers game it is for sure a great addition to the Transformers universe and there are plenty of homage's and easter eggs to be seen and lots of intense moments you guys will love it.

Just a heads up guys; Registered to let you know. My Local EB games called me this arvo and told me street date has been broken (probably due to you guys posting the receipt), thus FFC is available now for consoles.

I went into the store and they told me it was in time for their sale, and discounted $20. The bonus character codes (attached to the back of the box) appear to be regional, as mine starts with an AU360 prefix (Xbox 360 version).

Haven't played it yet, as I'm letting the missus watch TV for a bit

My Big W had it in today. Tried to scan it through the register and it wouldnt go through due to the embargo. Usually if the street date is broken, communication will be sent through to stores and the game will scan as normal. Hopefully it works tomorrow as Big W standard price is $61xx

Picked it up today for Wii and DS. I had a quick play with it. I must admit, I am not too thrilled with it so far

Actually JB online store has it for $59, ask the games department and they may sell it to you for that price plus the $3 postage fee.

I know the Wii version is an on rails shooter, and no real relation to the PS3/360 version. Hoping it is half as interesting as the hi-res versions.

I went back to EB with my receipt and price matched to BigW $61. Bargain! The 59.99 price I asked about drew blank stares so I just went with the BigW price.

Pretty good value overall seeing as I'm enjoying the game so much I wouldn't have minded paying the already "budget" rrp price.

Hey guys thought I'd point out that Steam no has a page for WFC..HOWEVER there is buy button yet. So you may have to wait till the 25th, there is no price for it either and you'll have to download the game but for those of us that can't wait it is a faster option then buying it overseas....also there is no pre-order option so alas no pre-order bonus.

Awesome game, fantastic story and graphics. very similar to gears of war in look if anyone has played that. same engine i do believe(unreal). multiplayer is freakin sweet also. pew pew gotcha.!:D

Finished the DS version. The main story is pretty short but overall its waay better than ROTF DS in terms of gameplay and extra features. the only disappointment is there's no Wi-Fi multiplayer.

Play-Asia doesn't seem to have it. Nobody does since most of those businesses source their games from Asian countries and the PC version was only released retail in the US and through Steam in the UK.

I played a bit of the first chapter and enjoying it so far but the graphics have certainly not been optimized for the PC and are very 'consoley', this is particularly noticeable in the character models but it is still pretty good.

different region of origin with a different rating system - some countries have R18 rating for games. it makes no difference since its still in english.

Well my copy arrived today and it is the same as the play asia one. It only came in the DVD cover. But there are apparently problems with the pc version in that frame rate is locked to 30fps (regardless if your pc can handle a higher frame rate) and the key bindings cannot be adjusted.
