The Action Pose Thread

There's one (http://forums.tformers.com/talk/index.php?showtopic=15299) over at Tfans but I thought it couldn't hurt to have one here too. Basically for anyone who doesn't know, the deal is you take pictures of your Transformers in cool or amusing poses for the rest of us to see. I'll start of with my Masterpieces.

Firstly Prime:

Took me a while to find a good pose to keep him in for a while. Since he'd arrived last week I'd put him in a standard, at ease pose but later decided it was too boring. This was the end result. I quite like it, but I'm willing to bet there are hundreds of people out there with a similar if not the same pose.

I really like these guys together but when put next to Prime and Megatron, their tiny stature kind of ruins them for me. Still, their poses are really nice. Unfortunately the photo doesn't really capture how cool they look in real life, but you get the idea.

The simplest pose and unfortunately the worst photo. As we all know Megs isn't too well equipped in the posing field so I like to keep him in a simple armed fusion cannon pose. Simple yet effective.

That's Mega-SCF Megatron. It's a highly-articulated PVC figurine with some interchangeable parts (hands, energy flail etc) - also comes with a Laserbeak or Buzzsaw (depending on 'anime' or 'metallic' variant) that perches on his arm. :)

Some nice photoshopping work there from excelonzero with Fire Convoy. We just photographed the same Fire Convoy toy several times and exelonzero later imposed them all in the same shot to make it look like there are three fire engines there.

It's from that scene in Dreamwave G1 Vol.1 where the firefighters drive their engines at Megatron.

Hey, how'd you get that Autobot insignia on Prime's shield?
I got the instructions sticker sheet I had from my Encore Rathcet and up the top next to the transformer logo they always slap a auto/decpe sticker there. I noticed the silver colouring is practically the same, some careful cutting and bammo! Prime has a nice insignia on his shield!

Bing Bing bing! Full points to Jaydisc! Just can look slightly odd, with the side of the cab sticking out the side of the shield (from the front), but nothing that makes it look mega-uncool.

I have also mounted it on his back with the smokestack guns and it looks kind of jetpackish. Pics coming when I get the camera out.

Hey that IS a good idea Tetsuwan. I currently have my two Prime moulds (UM and Prime) guarding the frontline with sheilds (awesome pose).

Such a versatile mould! I almost went without buying it because I had UM but I think he's been worth every penny.

First two are correct but the third is either Piece of Mind or Somewhere in Time. I've got Seventh Son as an LP as well as a Wasted Years LP Single.

Actually that's the Japanese Galaxy Force Starscream, which Hasbro badly repainted for the TRU exclusive 2-pack.

My Cybertron display. I really like it. The full range of scales really comes to the fore. It's one of my personal favourites next to the TFM ones. I think scale is an important addition to any TF line. It allows you to display in more interesting set ups.

Unfortunately they aren't. I don't have very much display space. Most of my TFs remain in plastic tubs littered around my house. At any given time, I might have about 5% of my collection on display at most. Hence why I posted this as a my "present" display. I hope to change it in June when my job hunting comes to a (hopefully successful) end (*fingers crossed*)

My previous displays on that shelf there (one of my two main displays) were the Classics Decepticons and before that an Optimus vs. Megatron homage. My idea for the next one would be Cybertron Decepticons or Energon Autobots. Maybe even the BTs since its been a long while since they were all out on display.

Thats some pretty cool posing going on there. I too thought the Galaxy Force figures were some of the bestest. Probably the one series that I own the most of.
Never understood why Hasbro had Prime's cannons in an over-shoulder config though. It never was like that in the show and IMO the round the back waist config looks more natural.

Yep its Movie scout Arcee. dirge had it reviewed for cliffbee and I havent retrieved it yet from kup ( we'll meetup in Parra fair anyways so no hurries), but not really a major loss in the pic. Oh and the Energon Arcee there, she is the Japanese released one, and the backing board said "Ariel" as her name, so I'm sticking to that heheheh. Kinda my excuse as well for getting the scout Arcee since I didnt get the Hasbro energon one which is named "Arcee"

You're right. I knew he was small when I played w/ Jaydisc's. However, i didn't realise how accentuated compared to the other deluxes. The toy is great fun though. I'm looking forward to the next sale and running around like a headless chook lookin' for him. :D

I doubt that you'll have to run too hard, all the TRU's I've been to have had at least double the amount of him as Starscream and Megs.

Bulkhead poses well for such a stocky figure. You do get your Voyager class's worth of plastic outta him though.

Hrm... on the back of this comment, I went out and picked one up when I probably shouldn't have. I've got both the Deluxes now and they are similar enough but not completely.

I think I like Battle-Damaged Prime better. Not 100% keen on the battle damage nor the waist but my Cybertron Prime is really fiddly w/ the shield/windscreen. It doesn't clip in very well. The axe is also nowhere near as cool. The legs on the BD Prime have an extra kink u lift hte figure up on. It gives it a bit more texture imo. However BD Prime has no light piping unlike Cybertron Prime. The arms on the Cybertron Prime fold back more nicely than BD Prime. But my biggest quibble w/ Cybertron Prime is he is so hard to align. My shields just aren't aligning very well and there's just so many large annoying gaps in the toy.

That said, both are very nice. I do hope though that the Voyager takes the best of both worlds and puts them together.

Technically Bumblejumper is either Bumblebee or Cliffjumper - depending on which card he was packaged on. I got mine (and his head) loose so I have no idea if mine's actually Bumblebee or Cliffjumper. Yeah yeah, it's an entirely different toy I know - but so are the different versions of Powerdasher and technically they're all the same character too. :p I know that Bumper has since been retconned as a separate character - but the original toy itself was sold and marketed as Bumblebee or Cliffjumper.

Fortunately there's only one Time Warrior. ;)

I've been in a long r/ship for the 1st time in my life. However, since she's leaving w/ her folks for England for a few weeks, I guess my status has changed. Time to start cleaning up! :D

I don't actually bring many home unless nobody is at home. And that was awhile ago when I was single. My current gf didn't know about it at first either. My room used to be very innocent and spot clean of TF. It had the odd one here and there but nothing as obvious as I do now. I'd be interested to see what happens though if I did bring a chick home. Even though I'd most certainly use the bedroom downstairs or the the fifth bedroom.

yup that the voyager size. Not so much a difference in height , but "venomous Prime" has smokestacks and sports a silver autobot sigil which V. Prime doesnt even have ( easily fixed with reprolabels) , plus of course the symbiote parasite like design of his Battle damage look. :D

Three old family members but I just opened Magnaboss and discovered how much I love the toy. Great combiner form and limbs. Shattered Glass Prime just kicks major tail. He has two new weapons that someone might find familiar. :) And lastly, JRX with "uoward" wings.

Those cat pics remind me of the G1 episode where the Autobots/Decepticons got blasted to that other planet (Child's Play) and the alien boy's oversized cat starts playing with Soundwave. I think the cat's name was Nitro and it was quite a funny episode tho i have to admit a bit annoying that the bots and cons were so small.

My fave moments were the baseball game at the start though.

My Botcon 2008 Decepticons finally got together. They work pretty well together except that Sideswipe is out of scale in alt mode plus has some awful articulation (which of course, isn't terribly unusual)

Divebomb also makes a very cool stand in for Laserbeak and Rampage and Razorclaw step in nicely as Ravages.
