Defender is new. I've had Combat Calibur for a while. Their combination of die cast, more matte colors and great detailing works well when displaying them together.

Defender is an engineering tour de force, the pièce de résistance!

Grabbed the 17 toys I was still missing from the new stuff - Leader Starscream, Leader Optimus, Voyager Ratchet, Voyager Payload, Deluxe Bumblebee, Ironhide, Jetblade, Ravage, Activators Bbee, Optimus, Megatron, Powerbots Optimus, Stealth Bbee, Generations Optimus, Bbee, Drift, Thrust.
(and managed to grab half a dozen toys to take for trading at BotCon) It was an expensive 2 1/2 hours this morning.

Thanks guys!

This piece is in surprisingly good condition. It's 110% complete with all styro pieces and all paperworks including used sticker sheet. All accessories came in their original baggies. The stickers are also very professionally applied.

The slight downside is that its quite dusty. Wife and myself spent the afternoon cleaning out the dust from all the nooks and crannies.

hahaha... I actually love my job, so really, I'm not complaining but what I posted in the "vent" thread was more to put some perspective into others' complains about their jobs. My wife actually earns approx 20% more than me and in a few months, she'll be earning double what I make, but on the whole, she works twice as hard as me, so again, I love my job. :p

I got this in the mail today. A truely monumental moment for me, and something I want to share with you guys.

It is something that has been continually denied me when I was young. (http://heroicdecepticon.blogspot.com/2005/08/ravagely-rumblin.html) It has been in my top 10 wish list since that time. (http://heroicdecepticon.blogspot.com/1989/09/transformers-i-really-wanted-as-kid-but.html)

It's something that I could not afford 5 years ago. It is rare to find in this condition and rarely less than a couple of hundred dollars. Back in Uni, it was just not possible. In the past few years, I could have bought it, but the KOs were released en masse and I just could not be confident that I was buying a genuine piece.

I chanced upon this on eBay after months of not buying anything from there. I asked the seller many questions about this piece and about where she got it. She said that she got it from a yard sale for $1. It was sold to her by a father who said its something his son had but never opened. With the help of 5FDP (thanks sir!), I was confident enough that it was the real thing.

I needed to attend back to back meetings and attend clients' offices in the morning that this auction was due to end. I could not bid during its last minutes. All I could do was put in my bid 2.5 hours before it ended and pray for a good result. Miraculously, I managed to win it.

Here is what I want to share with you guys - 1984, Series 1, Pre-rub Ravage & Rumble Mint on Sealed Card. Like I said, a monumental moment for me - this has been my holy grail for many years.

(sorry for the long post, I was almost in tears when I opened this and its the first thing in a long time that I opened myself instead of opening with my wife).

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure that the Autobot Rescue Force all had the same front Artwork (all with Leozack as the main 'bot).
Those Euro Cards are not quite 100%
- 'Jaruga' has its bubble loose towards the bottom of the card
- the other two have some bent corners
- Hawk is in excellent condition though :D

I can't read Japanese but I bought it mainly for the illustrations which are beautiful.

I know what you mean about carded figures! The Euro G1 - Gold Classics G1s - G2 era was my true upbringing on transformers so these are nostalgia central for me :D

I totally agree! I dedicated myself into finding this book for a reasonable price ever since flipping through Gok's copy at the Parra Fair meet. I gotta thank a member from TFW for this one :)

The scanner at home doesnt seem to work at the moment, but it has the same layout presentation as the other books in the series by the author, Alvarez.
Photography quality is not the best, but the comments he makes are interesting. It goes through the American and Japanese BW series, Beast Machines and Machine Wars. It even has a section on some KO BW figures!
Will see if I can scan a few pics at work when I get the chance.

The Protectobots I found at the Dapto Markets and felt compelled to rescue them from the bottom of the Flower Pot of which they seem to of been dumped in for quite some time at a cost of $1.

This may sound stupid, but I felt sorry for these guys so I've decided to use them as test subjects for my first go at the H202 treatment and if all goes well I'll get some Reprolabels for them and put them up for sale here, hopefully someone will find it in their hearts to give them a safe home. :D

yah, before starting the game... there will be an upgrade to firmware and also a pretty "long" installation to some...

i've tried it yesterday on JuzMel's PS3 and well, there are likes and dislikes.

Likes: Cool graphics, Nice characters hoping to see more toys made out of them e.g. Trypticon and Omega Supreme

Dislikes: Ammo Shortage!!!! Force to use Melee, 2 Weapons selection only... wished there were 4 or more

I agree, it would be cool to get a Trypticon or Omega Supreme toy but considering our best bet for an Omega toy was in the Animated line and Hasbro have said they're waiting to see how the game sells before making more toys (Starscream has been short-listed for the next one), it's not very likely :(

I bought the first three and thought each of the commanders was pretty basic, Huffer is far too simple for instance compared to other scout toys of the same price and size. The extra heads and their reveals are a nice touch but I've no interest in buying the drone limbs so it's an extra for nothing. The minicons annoy me with the way nothing really locks into place. So overall I'm happy to pass on the other figures and spend money on Generations and the off screen HFtD toys instead.

I agree with Paul on the simplicity of PCC Huffer. A lot of Legends are more complex than that. Skyburst is just as simple. Painfully so. The saving grace of the PCC's so far is Searchlight with a wonderfully complex yet graceful conversion. Which really exasperates the split in engineering within the same size line. Generally though they do look pretty horrid in either modes. The proportions are all off and robot modes can be a mixed bag.

Although, I personally love the line due to its playability with the drones and interchangeability. Just put them all in a box and have fun mix and matching without needing to look at manuals for conversion instructions.

Anyway, better keep on topic...

I think the Movie line has spoilt collectors (or spoilt it for collectors, depending on your focus on play or engineering complexity), making any following toys judged more harshly in comparisson.

I feel that PCCs shouldn't be compared to Movie Toys in that way, because they have to:
1 - incorporate a third mode without having too much kibble in the other modes (Searchlight as you said is more complex, but ends up having a lot more kibble in the 2 non-vehicle modes).
2 - aimed at a younger demographic, based on the easy combiner gimmick and bright blue posts (which were needed after their test group failed to find them easily enough - either a young test group, or a really stupid group).

For me, I'd prefer a simpler toy if it means nicer looking toys (reduced kibble) and better play-value (less time converting when you are playing by yourself or with friends).
Older collectors who display more than they play, have been spoilt with the Movie line, as they have offered more complex 'puzzles' to work out, and are sculpted/articulated to feature on a display shelf. Any pulling back from that complexity to target a younger age group, or fans of more playable toys, will be looked at as being a bad thing. I'm one who thinks it is a good thing, because we will still have that level of engineering in the Movie toys (which end up being one-off souvenirs for kids and parents who saw the movie), so that we can have a more playable, interactive subline to draw in 'new blood' who come back for more, rather than be put off by (Movie) toys that seem to only interest older collectors.

(I like both for their intended purposes, but see the need for a simpler range to draw in fans (while they are young enough to be into toys), who will then embrace the more complex ones later.)

BTW, for those interested, Eric Seibenaler (who designed the Animated toys), is the one designing the PCCs.
