Mine has exactly that, plus a few Bullseye and Green Goblins.
Got an extra 2 Black Widows though, one for my girls birthday, the other to be possibly my 1st custom, which will end in disaster, or me having somehow super-glued my hand to the table - although glue wont be involved.
:( Im so accident prone...

The blonde Black Widow.
Cant remember her name, was recently in Thunderbolts.

Yelena Belova.
It's funny... like you I bought a 2nd Black Widow to modifiy but my plans were to give her the gold (rather than silver) equipment and to (hopefully) make the hair look better.
Like this I guess:
http://mimg.ugo.com/201004/42874/ugo-bwidow.jpg
However, I also considered trying to make her look like she did in the 90's, which was like this:

(It's a terrible pic but Ron Lim used to make it look good during his run on Captain America.)

Personally I'm holding off on Black Widow. I'm really not a fan of the headsculpt and she's one of the women in the line that actually could well use a new base body.
But Mechbiter, that grey costume could well look good. I know I liked the ML version that came out recently. Maybe look to that for inspiration?

New MU toys in OZ? What the? Which X-Men pack is it?
I don't have a TRU anywhere near me so I'd be interested to hear if your TRU has them as well Gantz (Or anyone else for that matter, hint, hint). I'm not due back in Melb for about 2 months, so that won't help me at this stage.
BTW. Galactus is awesome!!! Far more impressive than the ML Build-A-Figure version, which I also have.
Sooo looking forward to a Sentinel. Although I might have to get more than one. :D I was starting to think I'd missed it, as I would have expected BBTS to have it listed already.

Thanks for the link MG, I had forgotten they were even doing that set. Very 70's. Storm looks horrible. Maybe one day they'll make a Storm toy that dosen't look completely ridiculous.
As for the AIM guys, I just ment before BBTS runs out. I'm assuming they won't have that many left but who knows. Not everyone is a wanna-be army builder. :D

Hey guys,
Will post my newbies this week some time, stupid busy work, getting my apartment painted and then a house inspection :(
So I do believe Toys R Us have hope in Marvel Universe, bot only did they have the wave with Thor, Extremis etc (they have not previously had that wave) they had the 70th Anniversary X-Men boxset, but also the new comic 2-packs, 1st Class Jean and Cyclops and Sabertooth and Wolverine :D

Picked up the Xmen 35th boxset today, unsure if I want to open it or not, looks so pretty in the box :) Also scored a Jean Grey (split a comic 2 pack with a mate). Found a hulk & thor in the mix as well so also picked them up. Very happy with all the figs.

I bought the giant size Xmen 6 pack from Toys r Us sale today. I almost didn't though, I had to look through all the stock to find one with acceptable QC. I recommend having a look at the figures before you lay money down for one of these.
The funny thing is I just read Gaint Size Xmen for the first time not 3 days ago, I wish they would do another set with the 80's or 90's Xmen, I don't want to collect a lot of marvel figures, but I do want some of the Xmen I recall from childhood. While these Xmen are before my time in the comic their likeness was used in the old scrolling beat em up game which I used to play as a kid.

Scored a Galactus yesterday, had such a hard time deciding which version to grab but in the end I went with the variant and happy I did. Great colour scheme, IMO he looks much more threatening when compared to the reg colouring. Its an excellent figure and I recommend anyone that hasnt grabbed one yet to do so.
I have a question for my fellow MU collectors, the Dr. Strange that is due to come out, I did a quick search on Ebay hoping to find one, came across this one - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MARVEL-UNIVERSE-DOCTOR-STRANGE-LOOSE-COMPLETE-3-3-4-INC-/270778863955?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0bad9153 - Is this an indiction that this figure is going to be hard to get? That price for a loose MU figure has me worried.

Good job on Galactus. I'd go for the variant myself too, he looks much more respectable.
As for Strange, he shouldn't be that much harder to get than any of the other sought after figures from previous waves (barring Thanos perhaps). Being shipped two to a case should help as well. The only main issue is that he has a variant "phasing" version. It will probably take a while for the "new wave" syndrome to wear off too.
I wish I had news to report on my end but I've had an MU dry spell lately.

i think there was alot of stuff we didnt get even the later waves of the ironman figs were hard to find not to mention the pain of the prices that they charge at retail here... i did think about ordering them offline, but it was always one of those things i never got around to do.
as much as i love the marvel stuff its not so much giving up on the line it is more i have reached that point where room is the problem. and with other things i collect (Transformers) being the "primary collection" and with the new house almost completed there will be less room for all the collection. a choice has to be made like i made with Cars and He-Man....i cant collect everything!!
and if or when it reaches that time to go, you have no worries as it will be offered up here first as i know they go to good homes..

Had my Apocalypse figure arrive in the mail today, great figure although when I removed it from its packaging I noticed my hands were covered in some type of sticky substance. Now before cheeky members jump on it, no I wasnt over-excited with the toy :P. Anyhow back to the substance, its some seriously disgusting stuff, clear but almost impossible to remove. I gave him a "bath" in some warm water but still it remains. Everytime I touch him it gets on my fingers again and I have to repeatedly wash my hands to remove it completely. Frustrating to say the least.
Anyone else here have this figure or another with the same type of stuff on it? Open to any suggestions for its removal.

I couldn't, even looking at the figure out of the box it would be hard to tell although when light hits him he turns shiny. Might be an oil of some type.

27th July 2011, 12:41 PM
Hmm, have you tried a gentle detergent of some kind? Even dishwash liquid? That might be enough to cut through the gunk without harming the figure.
My only guess is that it could possible be a mold release fluid or something? It's not a very sound theory but it's the best I can suggest.

As I was laying them out on the floor it dawned on me just how may I've bought. For some reason though I just haven't gotten around to opening them yet... I know it's partly because I'm traditionally a MOSC/MISB collector but I think the real reason is because I can't work out where to display them yet. I have one spot that might work, as it's a large flat surface but the veiws will be obscured by its location. It'll kinda be blocked by the couch and my AV equipment. Dare I even consider putting my prime placed TF figures away and putting MU figs up?
Where do you guys display your MU figs or are they in storage? When you display them, are they just sort of lined up or are they in battle poses?

Hmm, well I can't give quite as accurate price info as an Australian member could so I'll leave that to someone else.
What I can tell you is that Carnage and Venom are not yet in the MU line. They come from the Spiderman line and there's a list of the releases here (http://www.itsalltrue.net/?page_id=11024). There is a second bulkier Venom coming in the line too but this site has no pictures.
As for actually recommending them? It's really up to what you need them to do. Sculpt and scale wise they are fine. Articulation is worse than MU though. Venom has no knees or ankles! Carnage is serviceable though but neither are stellar. Hopefully that helps some.

Cheers for confirming mate - I think I may pass on them seeing as articulation is important to me (no knees?)
I mainly like the look of these characters and simply wanted some cheap, articulated, reasonably accurate sculpts of them with which to take pics of (I can't really justify splurging a lot on a figure simply to take pics of, I guess. :o)
