Repaint Limits

i find there is a repaint limit of 2 per side in the movie line

Are you saying that each mold is only repainted twice per side, only two autobot and two decepticon? Is the "repaint" only counted if it's a different character?
There's at least five repaints of voyager Optimus, and six for deluxe Jazz.

Erm what about the seekers then? Granted theres a change in heads but basically - Starscream, thundercracker, skywarp and ramjet are the same mould :)

Well, techincally they were in different lines, so i think the rule is still satisfied that there are only 2 releases of a mould in a single line.

I think Hasbro tries to meet the stores' desirexs for new product more often, and supplies this thorugh repaints, however they also know that saturation of a single mould is going to cause an intense backlash, hence the general rule of thumb of no more than 2 releases of a mould in a single line.

The Knock Out scout mould has also been used for Reverb, Backfire and Trenchmouth (albeit Walmart exclusive).
Arguably Backfire isn't ROTF since it's in the yellow packaging, but even still, that is 4 uses within a year!

There were about half a dozen versions of that Concept Camaro mold going around by the end of the last movie (Normal, Premium, AllSpark, Movie Battles, Battle Damaged (from the 2 pack), Cliffjumper, Stealth Bee).
