I was wondering if someone could do me a favour in identifying if some recently acquired transformer weapons I have are legit. If I could have accurate measurements in terms of length and width of the weapons in question for those of you who already own these items than this would also be appreciated.

1st example: Kup musket laser. Mine is around 62.8mm in length (sorry no image).

2nd example: Hotrod long photon laser. Mine is around 61.9mm in length. It has a grey/silver streakiness to the quality of the plastic. It has the number 1 underneath near the hand post. The plastic is firm and not soft:

3rd example: G2 Devastator magna laser. G2 is above and G1 below. Mine is roughly 76.2mm in length and is about .2 mm longer than my G1 Devastator rifle. The quality is slightly worse than my G1 example as it seems to have suffered slight mold degradation. In relation to this the left and right sides don't align exactly together and are out by about .2mm as can be seen in the second image:

4th example: G2 Devastator waist plate. Similar to my own G1 example. The plastic is soft:

5th example: G2 Devastator leg connector. One of the main differences between this piece and the G1 piece is that the cannons on the leg connector seem to be made of the same softer plastic as the waist plate, is this G2 specific?

The devy parts are original Eruntalon. Ive looked at my own G1 and G2 parts.

Hotrod's gun , well mine has # 3 and next/ above to it has a little hole, the same size near the tip of the turret.

Fake Devy gun is straight unlike the originals (G1 and G2) which appears to have the 2 haves askewed where the halves are joined thus have a slanted level - slanting down to the right. Also the detailing is a bit bloated and less sharp with fakes. yours is sharp like the ones I own.

G2 Devys Hue of purple is lighter than G1. Fake Devy purple is darker than the G1 purple is and the gun tip of the fake has a more pronounced tapering at the barrel tip and there's some small holes on the gun part, prolly where the mold injection was ( for the fake)

Thank's liegeprime. I was having difficulty coming to terms with the quality of Devastators magna laser at least, as it has been some time since I have brought out my G1 version, which to me now looks sloppy in quality compared to other G1/G2 weapons.

I would still like to know from anyone if the quality of the orange plastic of the cannons on the leg connector is meant to be slightly softer (the same as the orange waist plate) than the standard orange and purple plastic of other weapons, which in my case it is.

Yep the orange plastics used for the parts seem to be of softer plastic, not soft soft but it has that "feel" compared to G1 plastic which seems to be more solid and unpliable. AFAIK Eruntalon They used a different plastic mix for G2 Orange Devy, from what Ive seen the Yellow Devy ( a set of which didnt come with connector bits for Devy)also has that softer plastic feel/dull plastic look to it and its combiner parts. It has that KOey feel to it for not having a solid firm feel to it. AFAIK the orange Devy has not been KOed but the yellow one has. and as far as KOes are concerned they often use glossy, solid plastic.... but their solidness is still by far softer and more brittle compared to the original toy. Most likely a change in plastic formula used by Hasbro, which they still further changed til now resulting in the "hasbro gary" as we call it type of plastic which has a KO feel to it.

Also yeah i was a bit taken by surprise now that youve pointed and I had a look in my Tfs that the KO halves of Devy Guns are more "aligned and stright" compared to the original. Something I havent bothered to ( well I bought the orange as a set waaaaaay back on release) look at - gee the quality back then til now, seems nothing has changed to the so-called "hasbro's strict quality control" ei?;):p

I remember when I opened G2 orange Devy and played with it, finding that it didnt have "metal parts"... at first it bugged me, but then when I started polaying with my other G2 purchases, I just thought "Well all of em seem to have no metal and are all plastic. Perhaps that's really how all the Tfs are nowadays" - how simple and easily contented was I back then heheh:p

mayhaps other G2 owners would care to examine their stuff as well for Eruntalon's peace of mind? heheheh:)

Yeah thanks for that. I certainly do have more of an understanding as to the quality of the different releases of Devastator and this has brought me piece of mind.
