I've just been reading this information online today. It seems as though the host of ABC's television show Collectors Andy Muirhead has been charged by the AFP for obtaining child pornography.

The television show has been postponed pending his hearing and the shows website has also been suspended.

Holy crap  I watch this show every week and he's the last person I would expect to be charged for a crime such as this. Makes me sick.

Don't get carried away/judgemental every time you hear about someone being charged with CP-related offences.

Remember, because of stupid, poorly-written laws, some legally-produced adult pornography gets classed as CP even when it's clear it's not CP at all.

It's possible that the host had legally-produced pornography that fell afoul of the stupid laws, leading him to be charged.

Yeah, let's go with innocent until proven guilty here. We can go judgement day on him if/when he's been convicted.

You don't really get charged for "obtaining" it, more for trading and creating it. Sure there's exceptions such as the pc shop finding it on your machine, or you using a pay site, etc.

Awww man, it's the one who's a fan of TFs... :(

It shouldn't affect the show though, but I can understand the need to suspend it and the website to 'sanitise' it of all reference to him (which would take a while as he was the main host).

I'm still assuming that he's innocent until proven guilty, as is his basic human right.

"Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence."
- Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 11.1

What's your point?
(no one has yet labelled him as a convicted criminal)
