The Transformers Ride is being planned for Singapore (2011) and Hollywood (2012).
The one in Hollywood at Universal Studios, will be replacing their Backdraft 'ride', which was there for 18 years (so this TFs ride could be around for about the same number of years if popular).

The Backdraft 'ride' was meant to be closed for demolition late last year, but was put off until just a few weeks ago, and pics have now surfaced of the construction site with signage promoting the new ride.

I remember at the Pre-BotCon tour to Universal Studios last year, one of the staff at the Backdraft 'ride' noticed our TFs clothing and said that we were going to be some of the last people through it, as it was meant to be demolished soon after for the TFs ride. I guess they took a little longer than expected.

I have fond memories of Universal Studios, and I remember the Backdraft ride, if you could call it a 'ride' per say. I wonder how significant a change to all the mechanics will be.

This is before my time but didn't part of the back lot studio tour used to focus on the original series of Battlestar Galactica. I'm talking about the part of the tour where you go through a subway and the ground cracks open, water gushes in. This same set can be seen in the film Beverly Hills Cop 3 which includes the Cylons!

They still had the subway bit on the studio backlot tour, but no cylons.
