This has bugged me for some time, the Transmetal Cheetor has always been one of my favourite beastwars toys but the one thing that bugged me the most are the mold was the lack of movement in the front legs. I got bored last night and 2 hours later this is what I came up with..

First of I had to figure out what to use for the joints, nearly went with a lego ball joint but as I was rummaging through my toy box and remembered i had a junker Optimus Primal and realised he had a wonderful set of hip joints, so he got pulled apart and now Cheetor now has a lovely set of front shoulder joints, He is a little bit wider across his shoulders now but it doesn't look out of place in either mode, if any thing it improves his look...

I didn't take many photos while doing it but I did take a couple of pics of how the parts went together, the sockets for the legs almost fell into place after dremaling out the shoulder, the socket it self didn't require much removal of the plastic on the out side to get it to fit.

The ball joints where almost the same, all I had to do was cut the ball joins off optimus, so you have 2 balls with a hole in the middle ( just a point of interest there is a steel pin that runs though the middle of hip joints), then i reamed out the hole at both ends one bigger enough for a screw head and the other end just big enough to fit over the peg where the leg use to fit. This joint gets epoxyed in and then screwed to keep it nice and solid.

And heres the finished product...

I never had the toy so I can't see how it's changed compared to the old one - but as a HUGE fan of adding balljoints to add articulation, great job mate! :D
Well done making it so seamless too! :D

sorry about lcz128, that my fault, I'm shocking for not taking photos before and after shots. The legs just moved on a pin so they only went backwards and forwards.

Hope this helps...

Heh - nah nah mate- when I said I didnt' know how it was I meant in terms of having played with the toy before. That said, from how you'd described the mod you made I totally got what you did and still reckon you did a great job :D Props bro! :D
