Okay, so unless you were sitting under a rock today, you will know that this morning Keving Rudd stood down from the position of Prime Minister at the urging of his party. Julia Gillard then stood unopposed as the new Prime Minister with Wayne Swan as her deputy.

The two of them will lead us to the next election (probably around October/November).

I can understand why the party felt they needed to have a clean break, but I for one am disappointed as to how the whole thing came down in the end.

What are your thoughts? Are you happy with Julia Gillard as our first female PM? Do you support the Liberal Party, and see this as Tony Abbott describes as a new salesperson selling the same dodgy product? Share your opinions here.

Lets not get into a political talk on this, we already saw it start to spark out of control with one simple comment.

The discussion thread's here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=8084) - so far we're all playing nice and it hasn't degenerated into accusations of mass voter brain-dead-ness again.

He can't acess that topic.

Besides, there are rules prohibiting the discussion of unresolvable topics like beliefs and (political) orientations.

If you need to, mention what you feel (emotions like surprise, happy, etc), just no reasoning or theories or thoughts on the likely outcomes of this event, as it will just degenerate into endless debate.

Thankyou.
