ABC's Collectors TV Show Cancelled?

I'd like to mention that what I have heard below is all conjecture until some written proof can be found, I have been trying to find an online write up of the events to back the statements so if anyone can find some links that would be much appreciated.

Apparently my Father and a couple of his mates, who are regular viewers of the show, have heard via Radio that the show has been cancelled indefinitely as a repercussion to Andy Muirhead's recent charges of possession of Child Pornography.

Apparently Andy Muirhead has been sentenced to 5 years Jail for the possession of 1000+ pictures of Child Pornography found on his computer.

I personally feel that to cancel the show and essentially lay-off the other hosts for the actions of another is highly wrong, but until proof can be found that this has indeed occurred please take this with a grain of salt.

It's terrible that one bad egg had to ruin the whole show.

So the trial's gone ahead already? Or did he just plead guilty outright?
The Age article had the trial listed for August 2 is all, so I'm a tad confused here.

I haven't read through all of this, but I'm pretty sure this is a 'blog' about the TV show 'The Collector' instead of 'Collectors'.

The Collector is a supernatural drama, in the tradition of Rod Serling's original Twilight Zone,

I'm pretty certain they won't cancel the show. They'll just press on without Andy if they have to. It's too much of a ratings winner for ABC.

I too am confused, because the date was supposed to be August but my Fathers friends heard the on the Radio yesterday that he had been Jailed for 5 years and the show had been cancelled.

This is the exact reason why I'm waiting for some written news to come about this, because at the moment there is greatly conflicting reports.

I can't seem to find anything reasonably recent apart from the TV.com Australia forum, which is odd because it was front page news when the whole thing was announced and you would think that any developments would be on various news websites also?.

Indeed you were right 5FDP, it was about a different show, my F*k up. :p

I would hope that your right man because it is a great show and I fail to see why the other hosts should be punished, just make no sense.

I'm starting to question the radio report that my Father's mates heard, I can't find a written source anywhere that reflects what they've said.

Well I'm glad to see that the ABC have done the smart thing and allowed the show to continue minus Andy Muirhead.

I'm very glad to see this, unfortunately I've only been able to catch the midday reruns but nonetheless, it is good to see the other hosts have not been punished for the deeds of another.

I wish the show all the best in the future and am glad that the rumors reported by myself above are just that, rumors that have not eventuated. :)
