Hello all =o)

I hope this is the place to ask this. Ever since purchasing my MP-04 from Target, it has had a few QC issues, which couldn't be resolved with an exchange, as they had none left. Since my time on the board however, I have read about members saying they had contacted TakTom and were well cared for, receiving the missing/defective parts in the mail. My problem though, is my Japanese vocabulary consists of approximately 10 words. So do we have any board members who could/would be willing to assist me in contacting TakTom to make my MP-04 the way he should be?

Any help/suggestions appreciated =o)

One issue to consider: You bought this toy from Target in Australia yes? If so, then it's technically a HASBRO toy. Yeah yeah, it's really a TakaraTOMY toy, but it was distributed here by Hasbro Australia. TOMY and Hasbro are legally bound not to interfere with each other's market. I got assistance from TOMY with some of my Japanese Transformers, because I purchased them from Japan (even if you ordered it from say HLJ, you're still buying it from Japan since HLJ are based in Gunma-ken. The toys are distributed by TOMY to HLJ (retailer) who then sell the toys to their customers online). So my first port of call would be to Hasbro Australia. The toy was distributed by them to Target and therefore it should be their responsibility to service it.

Now, I don't know if Hasbro will see things this way, but I reckon it's worth a try! If they can't help then... erm... yeah, you'll need to contact TOMY. Do you have any Japanese speaking friends?

My holidays are coming to an end now, so I'm about to get really busy with the final term of Year 12 running at me. :( Maybe Tetsuwan Convoy or kurdt_the_goat can help? (お先に鉄腕コンボイ氏と山羊カードト氏の変わりに話してゴメンね・・・許して!m(__)m)

Sorry Gok, I shoulda mentioned that already, I had previously tried Hasbro Australia (which oddly was an American lady), and all she said was if it has Takara on the box, it's Takara's issue, end of story (even though I told her at least 5 times it was purchased in Australia at target). Thank you for your reply though =o) Unfortunately, I don't have any Japanese speaking friends, hence why I have asked here for help.

Sorry Jaisun, i'm not much help as it's my wife who speaks fluently not me; unfortunately it's hard enough to get her to translate something for me, let alone somebody else:(

Hmm... well, that's interesting to know. When you find someone to help you, be sure that they quote this to TOMY, because my understanding is that they only service toys that are purchased from retailers who've purchased stock from them, which would exclude Target Australia. So be sure to explicitly tell them that you did already speak with Hasbro and that it was Hasbro who advised you to contact Takara.

Btw, when Hasbro advised you to contact Takara, did you say something like, "But I don't speak Japanese... how do you expect me to communicate with them? Are you able to provide me with a translating service?"

*sigh* Anyway, maybe you can contact the Government of South Australia Interpreting and Translating Centre.

What is it that's actually wrong?

I've had a few problems with TakTom TFs and other manufacturer's products that I got help replacing through HLJ.com. It has been a while since MP-4 was released, but if the parts are similar to MP-4B or MP-4S you might be in luck

The main two issues are that the two headlight pods are missing (the little rectangle headlight bits that 'plug' in to the front of the truck), and also the clip base of the Energon Axe is missing, so it is just the singular axe piece, stopping at the studded ball with no actual attachment for Prime to wield it. Further on, but less of an issue is the Megatron gun came broken on the top where the scope attaches, and the chrome on the fuel tanks that click in to release the leg extension were already worn before I even handled him. I doubt much can be done about the wear, but I was hoping the missing/broken bits could be replaced.

Ya know who might have spare MP Prime parts? kelvinchang99. He's certainly cannibalised enough MP Primes for his customs! Maybe drop him a PM and see if he has the parts you need. :)
