It certainly looks good, and it comes with his trailer

Do want! Please be in the scale of Prime and Megs, oh pretty please.

Does anyone else look at the picture of a robot mode and think it doesn't actually look like a transforming action figure? It looks more like a cartoon model or the model for a non-transforming figure to me so far.

I was hoping for Hot Rod, unless we are lucky enough for it to be both *fingers crossed*

Please be affordable (but I'll still somehow find a way to get him :o)

I know what you mean - it looks like an animation model to me as well.

That's what I was thinking too, but they have done so well with the other Masterpiece releases that I'm prepared to give them the benefit of allot of doubt.

Maybe this is the first pic, analyzing the cartoon model, and the next one will be how they'll adapt it to toy form?

Not excited. I was up for Masterpiece Hot Rod, not Masterpiece Winnebago Prime. h

There are rumours floating around that he will be able to transform into both Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime. Only rumours at this stage, but it's certainly possible.

That's very good but that concept art doesn't tell us much about the actual toy's design. It looks too much like a character model.

Ha ha ha! Thats what Rodimus is though. Bring on the campervan I say!
Excitement building.

Reminds me of the PVC statue I got of him.

That's what I mean. It's not enough to tell us anything about the toy. We all know what Rodimus looks like and that drawing is basically a character model (possibly used for guidance) not really a toy design.

Looks very animated like to me. They can totally go those legs, it just plugs into the box trailer and hides in there.
I'd be expecting the toy to look like that picture. I don't know how others would like it though as it would have large plain areas. Cartoon like really.

Awesome. I wouldn't buy a Hot Rod, but a Masterpiece Rodimus Prime would be brilliant.

I hope not. But if it is, I am pretty confident iGear will shrink it down to Seeker/PP01 size ;)

Not a huge fan of Roddy but we'll see. If it means we eventually get a Galvatron then that's ok though.

I too hope for Seeker size preferably from Takara/Hasbro though. I prefer that size and at current prices a MP1 size Rodimus with trailer would cost a fortune.

He comes with a campervan?
Car Transformers don't interest me - we've seen hundreds and hundreds of them and they're rarely innovative or anything new. But a motorhome with a camper that potentially transforms into a defence bay has been done, like... once. Plus I like Rodimus Prime as a character more than I do Hot Rod.

Fair enough. :)
Although Rodimus Prime always struck me as dull compared to Hot Rod.

See, for me, we went straight from the leadership of the legendary Optimus Prime, to this guy who (and for me his first truly shining moment is possibly 'Five Faces Of Darkness' Part Four), in a scene where he's just seen his ex-girlfriend with the muscleman she's now hooked up with, Rodimus Prime emo-short circuits himself, because he is in fact as stupid as he looks. This is a dude whose idea of leadership is to let Ultra Magnus deal with it. I've always felt that Hot Rod was a predictable cliché, but that Rodimus Prime is something special and unique.
