Hi everyone (not sure if this is the right place to put this in)

I've been on the hunt for the roadbuster upgrade kit (classics roadbuster) - I've searched high and low and ebay but to no avail.

So i went to plan Z ... i.e. get in touch with nato-bot (creator of the kit). Seeing as he wouldnt accept my friend request on facebook ... i switched to reaching him via TFW2005.

anyway - I asked him if he would be willing to create more kits. He responded with this ...

"...Hmm...

... Start a petition if you wish, and we shall see."

Which brings me to the point of the thread ... is there anyone out there who is in need or hunting the roadbuster upgrade kit? I'm just trying to get numbers. He still hasnt mentioned the price. I'm assuming the initative to fire up the project again (and sell) would be continegent on how many would actually want it.

For those of you who are not familiar with it ...

I'd be more inclined to buy the original original "roadbuster" than try and drum up business for someone who doesn't seem interested in it anymore.

In fact I did a while ago, it's freaking cool. Just throwing this out as an option. :)

yeah i totally agree.
what kind of BS attitude is that? dont they want our money?

i'd say either:
a) get the original G1
b) or get the Mugen Calibur version and paint it up.
c) or if you really must beg to get something reproduced, then go and get the TF crossovers captain america and then plead with 'kidbash' to re-release their roadbuster upgrade kits!!
http://www.kidbash-store.com/product/roadbuster-conversion-kit

unfortunately, my set was lost in the mail and they only produced a limited number of sets :(. However, kidbash are more friendlier to deal with, the kit looks way better than the nato-bot version and has better value for money IMO.

yeah its a darn shame.
but you and i werent the only ones that didnt get the RB kits and received a refund instead. just search the TFW2005 thread... there was quite a number of other buyers too.

however, i did mention to Y/R on a few occasions that putting the store label 'Kidbash' on the parcel might attract some negative attention from say..er..customs or the police maybe??, who kinda treats the matter of 'bashing kds' quite seriously...

Totally a better option IMO. He's more in scale too! i think he scales really well with Defender - just like in the pack-in comic too!

Well I haven't seen one for sale, at all. But I'd be willing to guess that there would be some crazy fan that will buy one even if the price is outragous :p

It's not quite in the awesome G1 colours of lcz's, but here are a couple of pics of mine:

LCZ it looks so smooth, did you use a spray gun? what type of paints did you use?

The armor would be tricky to repaint as its fairly different to G1. I would digibash it first to test colors but he kind of looks like Warbot Defender in that armor :)

hi guys - here's the latest on my discussion with nato-bot

Same as before, $30 for the whole kit. I'll not likely do any "mass production" again as my work schedule wouldn't allow it, but I might make a few a week and through them up on e-bay buy-it now.

not sure about the quality but if you take a look at the video it kinda shows you.

Unfortunately, as roadbuster is on the shelf and i was downstairs and was in no position to get him... here's pics of the Combat Calibur...who has lost his armour to my Roadbuster :b

Alt mode:
See how he has a little human pilot as well? :) He actually folds down into the body like in the 3rd picture
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17/lcz128_photos/Transformers/CC_01.jpghttp://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17/lcz128_photos/Transformers/CC_02.jpghttp://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17/lcz128_photos/Transformers/CC_03.jpg

Bot mode
not the best poseability because of his crotch/hip construction/transformation requirements. He stands straight well, but you can cheat and make him post a little better too!

Head Closeup
Just a closeup for how nice the head is :) It's on KIND OF a ball joint but it doesn't give maximum balljoint mobility though - it works though-

not sure if there's any hype still behind this but im still hunting for the Roadbuster 2.0 upgrade kit. This post is just and FYI.

I got tired of chasing for even a response from Nato-fBot for this.

I actually chatted to Venksta from tfw2005.com (http://www.renderform.com/)
and he advised that the roadbuster upgrade was part of the projects he's working on.

he sounds more promising.

I'm still interested if its for the univers 2.0 version of Roadbuster. needs something to beef him up a bit

unfortunately, the most i got out of natotbot was "we will see". I even gave him numbers for interested OZformers members. I never really got anything else from him though. I've stopped asking for more items. I'm going to wait around for other customisers to make them instead.

Indeed thanks man :),
I hope my opinion on resin didn't hamper this for others - which was discussed in another thread that I can't recall, hehe... :o

Deceptic_Optic

this is actually not my work but i got some to customise it for me its based is from the captain america crossover, head is casted and given a ball joint that gives it a multiple head articulation.

Deceptic Optics that is AMAZING! :D
Pretty clever choice of base bot.

I've seen movement in this arena - the roadbuster upgrade is a consideration under renderform. I've purchased from him in the bast. It's likely to cost at least $30CAD plust $15CAD for standard untracked shipping (and something like $70).

I've also very certain the their post office physically swims all the way down here as delivery can take 3 months!

that said, beggers cant be choosy.

Not quite as awesome as Deceptic Optic's, here's something closer to home just in case Deceptic Optic's custom is out of your price range... :o
