Thanks to higsy19 for helping me get Roadbuster's handle. The last piece needed to complete my Roadbuster.

Well done Kup! Completing an original Roadbuster is one of the most difficult things to accomplish. With 13 individual accessories (17 if you have all of the missiles), it's no wonder more often than not you see them on Ebay as 'incomplete'.

Congrats! I remember being so happy when I got that toy just because it was the FIRST Transformer to have a MATRIX! By today's standards it's not a big deal cos we've had a few toys with much better matrices that can be removed from the chest, hand held and even openable... but back in 1998 it was a pret-ty damn cool! :D :)

Be sure to keep this toy away from sunlight though... that white yellows easily, as my toy can atest to. :(

Another figure I stupidly missed out on coz I didnt like BW then. They were being sold in clearance prices of Php 100 (Au$ 2.50) back when Armada was about to be launched in Phils both for the crystal sparkly version and normal white one, sigh.... ah well congrats Klystron!!:)

as for me, these arrived..

From Verno - BW Prowl lion. Finally able to complete my Magnaboss he stand proud ( chin up baby!) and TM Blackarachnia - which I find very creepy looking in her spidermode:p. Only 2 more BW figs and Im ok ( considering it complete) with the series figures.
Non TF but Im lazy to take separate pics from Sharky MOTU figs. Merman's trident is appropriated already by Octopunch:D

Oh Liege, you don't know how envious I am of your complete Magnaboss Sword!
Verno has very kindly been able to source me the two feathers from Silverbolt, now all I need is the two parts to Ironhides club.
Dear God BW parts are near impossible to come by, for certain figures anyway.

Congrats on Blackarachnia too :D, I love that figure in Alt mode, her Bot mode is only let down by her extremely thin and weak ankles. :(

I too hope he has them, apart from Optimal Optimus's Rifle they're the last parts I need for my BW collection. :D

My acquisition today is all the way from Spain:

G1 Decepticon Micromaster Anti-Aircraft Base with Blackout and Spaceshot

http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/a409/Darkone666au/AUG03ACQ-1.jpg

This set is a big thing for me, as it was the first 'big boy' Transformer/s that I ever owned courtesy of my late Grandfather for my 4th Birthday.
Alas, 2 younger brothers came into the fold and it was destroyed, 21 years later though the set rejoins my collection. :D

Looking at them with older eyes now, it seems rather ironic that Blackout and Spaceshot would be charged with the duties of operating an Anti-Aircraft Base... :p:D

they need to do Longtooth like the new Bludgeon mould where the awesome pretender shell is incorporated into the robot.

I think Skullgrin's inner robot is probably the best of the original. I think it's because his tank vehicle looks like a vehicle without anything needing to be attached to it, and he can flip out guns to replace his hand in robot mode.

Extra bonus: if you have slender childlike wrists, you can wear Skullgrin's belt as a bracelet... as my sister showed me 20 years ago :)

I totally agree. I much prefer the 1989 Pretenders because they do have non-anorexic robot modes and identifiable alt modes. A lot of the 1988 Pretenders transform into "WTF?!" alt modes - and as Paulbot said, some of them are too reliant on accessory kibble (Gunrunner is arguably the worst in this regard). The 1989 Pretenders transform into vehicles or robotic beasts, whereas a lot of the 1988 Pretenders transform into folded up robots. The '88 Pretenders are more like contortionists. :p

oh and WALRUS POWER! I'm stoked to get Longtooth, the closest I'm probably ever going to get to a Walrus TF. Its a bitter sweet moment for me.
"He's a grand, ungodly, god-like 'bot, Pretender Longtooth; doesn't speak much; but, when he does speak, then you may well listen. Mark ye, be; Longtooth's above the common; Longtooth's been in colleges, as well as 'mong the Mecannibals; been used to deeper wonders than the waves; fixed his fiery lance in mightier, stranger foes than kluds forewarned."

In all honesty Tallestblue, if purely going by pictures?, I think that would be a fairly easy mistake to make. :(
I'm sorry to hear of your frustrations, but if you look at it this way: the figures your getting I believe are of a much more show accurate scale than their larger counterparts, so they'll look much better IMO in amongst the rest of the show cast figures, especially if your seeking out the Japanese Telemocha repaints. :D

they are about the same as the cybertron ones. Hell I'm after the Primal you bought, so if you don't want it I'll take it off your hands for what you paid

Well, Now that I think About it they'd be pretty sweet next to Masterpiece Optimus Prime and Megatron. There is a fair few on Ebay, just type in either Telemocha or Beast Wars 10th and you'll find them. It's much harder to find the larger ones I'm after. Anyone know where I can find em?

Got home from the movies tonight to find FOUR packages (and a slightly annoyed wife, ooops :o)
It's a bit late for pics but here's what they had:

Universe Hound (for me) and animated Grimlock (for Humtan). Big shout-out to OTCA member Klystron!
Japanese HOC Metroplex
G1 Scavenger and G1 Kup (these are in really nice condition; makes me wonder if they are reissues. They are stamped in the 1980s; any way to tell?)
and a sealed Classics Rodimus wheeeeee :D

In all honesty Tallestblue, if purely going by pictures?, I think that would be a fairly easy mistake to make. :(
I'm sorry to hear of your frustrations, but if you look at it this way: the figures your getting I believe are of a much more show accurate scale than their larger counterparts, so they'll look much better IMO in amongst the rest of the show cast figures, especially if your seeking out the Japanese Telemocha repaints. :D

I have the Robot Masters, Telemochas and original Ultra BW leaders, and I disagree. The RM moulds are taller than a Basic, but a tad smaller than a Deluxe. They are nice toys, but in terms of "interactive scale" I much prefer the original Ultra sized leaders. The cartoon effectively made Optimus Primal and Megatron Mega sized really... hence the Transmetal leaders have the most show-like scale IMO. But Ultra is closer to being Mega compared to not-quite-Deluxe size. :)

But as I said, they are nice toys in their own right and feature more show-like colours and sculpting -- and it's neat how Megatron's tail weapon can be removed to reveal his left hand (the original Ultra toy has no hands).

picked up Yoda yesterday. I've had a short fiddle with him in shuttle mode, but haven't transformed him yet... he doesn't seem to have a missile launcher or stowage compartment for his lightsabre in shuttle mode. I had a quick glimpse at the instructions (but not too long as I don't want to "spoil" the transformation for myself) and I couldn't see any notes about where to store the lightsabre.

Hopefully I'll have time to transform it today and see if I can find it. Also, there doesn't appear to be any pilot's compartment. I know the newer Crossovers don't have pilots, but they usually have compartments - I guess for use with the pilots from the older SWTFs. Perhaps since we never had a previous Yoda Transformer before, and thus never had a Yoda pilot figurine, they didn't bother including one. Now that I think about it, I don't think the Battle Droid/tank has a pilots compartment either. But the Imperial TIE Bomber has a pilot's compartment despite the fact we've never had an Imperial TIE Fighter pilot figurine (unless Vader wants to fly it :p).

Some thoughts...:p
Elite guard Botcon poster - need to have it laminated and framed
- I still dunno who some of the bots in the pics are though... and I thought Tap out was supposedly a bigger bot before he traded in for his smaller minib ot form after something violently tragic that scarred him psychologically ( can't remember where I read that though)
G1 Freeway - I only need Chase to complete my second set of Throttlebots :)
and Botcon comics, so nice to read a longer TF comics, been really disspointed with IDws format of oodles of pages lost dedicated to "other product promotion" which leaves the comic story part just a few measly pages..

If you look at the picture, In his back there is a tab and on his gun there is a hole that corresponds to it.

Heh nice one. I didn't even notice that little spot. And I know how you feel about transforming him. I turned him into a vehicle once, then later on tried to transform him back while drunk. I wouldn't advise the latter part lol.

But aside from that, my dog got hold of the gun anyway, so I no longer have the gun for BB :(

Picked up a first wave Star Wars Transformers crossovers Darth Vader/Advanced Tie Fighter for only $10(comes with Vader pilot figure) yesterday at my local sunday antique and toy market (Fisherman's Wharf Markets in Adelaide)

Loose and 95% complete (missing 1/2 lightsabers)

After doing prior research on Youtube for reviews of this particular toyline the general reception wasn't so positive so I didn't think much of these figures, but as a kid I grew up with Star Wars and always wanted to own any form of Tie Fighter, or any other vehicles from the series (especially X-wing, and Y-Wings!) but could only afford those lame KFC kid's toys like the small Naboo Starfighter with a hollow front that sat on a spark-gun so that when you pressed the trigger sparks would come out like the vehicle was firing. But overall I was really impressed with this toy, and now my interest has grown onto other figures of this toyline.

I was confused with the Differences between Telemocha DX Primal & Megs and the TM SP DX Versions which are the Ultra sized models which I also thought were the re-molded versions from Beast Wars Reborn/Tenth Anniversary. So I naturally jumped on what Appeared to be them for 35 bucks and 30 shipping. I thought it justified for two Ultra sized toys for a bit more than two deluxes. I then did some research on TfWiki and realised my mistake.
But hey neat toys are neat toys. Still want the Beast Wars Reborn set tho.

I think one main criticism is the relative simplicity of the toy for what is an expensive Masterpiece. When I got this toy I started wondering what it'd be like to read instructions for an MP toy in English -- but then I remembered... Hasbro doesn't believe in using words. (-_-) So just as well it's fairly simple, cos I reckon it'd be a beeotch to transform a Masterpiece without textual instructions... I admire anyone who can transform Masterpieces without being able to read the instructions, cos I do read the instructions and I still find them hard! :p

Btw, does anyone want the box? If not I'm gonna bin it. Speaking of which... I've been noticing this with the Human Alliance figures, and now MP Grimlock -- but they're so-called "boxes" are really more like rectangular(ish) CARDS. Maybe like a big box-card hybrid... but when opening the toy it nothing like opening a box cos you effectively have to take the packaging apart! I've done it quite carefully and I haven't damaged anything (other than cutting a lot of sticky tape).

Rotorstorm launchers thanks to 1AZRAEL1. My Rotorstorm is compete again!
Now I just need to find me a Guzzle and a single Pyro missile and I've got the complete Last Stand of the Wreckers newbie set.:D

Guzzle shouldnt be much of a problem, Pyro on the other hand, hmmmm good luck with that one.;)

Belated Skyshadow!!

Finally gave in and bought stunted MP grimy from Parra TRU, thanks to the sightings thread.... well the price I think is better than the overinflated pricing when it first came out so I bought one. aaaand I was able to transform it without looking at the instructions!! that was a surprisingly simple MP:confused:, pretty much the same as G1 actually.

The simple transformation was no surprise to me as I've transformed gamblor916's MP Grimlock before. You're right that it is very similar to the G1 toy's transformation too, which makes it the most simplistically engineered Masterpiece toy. Still, it is simple yet effective. But having said that, it really should've been a cheaper toy considering (even in Japan it was overpriced IMO). The price of the toy here is hideously overinflated, but it's cheaper than buying from an import store and the advantage of buying it from a shop is you can inspect the condition of the toy/packaging first hand and not worry about it being damaged in transit (or if it is it's your own damn fault :p). Also if there's anything faulty with the toy it's easier for you to bring it back for a refund/exchange. But importing it would save a substantial amount of money - so there's pros and cons with either importing the toy or buying it locally. :)

Well looking at the receipt, it would have cost only around $130+ but with GST it brought it up to $150. Darn GST..... makes me wish now they made the rest of the Dinobots in MPs... ah well you never know, but then again I doubt it coz the other Dinobots would not be as famous as their leader is anyhow, although Swoop and Snarl would be awesome, what with all that gold chrome on Snarl :D. It's kinda nice in a way that MP grimy's transformation is simple coz I dont have to always look at the instructions unlike that of Megs which is quite confusing I might add. Despite the size Im enjoying the toy, which ends up in the shelves with the Generations hehehe, I really need to rearrange ( again) my collection to see if I can find more space :o:o. Need to save up too for glass shelves.....

Great homage to Hot Rod, another nifty Animated transformation that's easy, smooth and not what I initially expect, but I am a little disappointed in the beefcake pose, the Rodimus face on a Hot Rod body, and that the silly weapon that just gets in the way IMHO.

Package arrived today from RK... a couple things for TinyJazz, but most was for me, so had lots to play with today.

From RK today - DL Blaster, Henkei Inferno, Henkei Cheetor, Animated Ironhide, Animated Rodimus, 4x Deluxe 2-packs, Challange for Cybertron 3-pack.
From Kmart today - Legends 4-pack.
From RK last week - Henkei Dinobot (saved $7 by buying one from their Ebay store, which had a B-I-N that was significantly less than on their website).
And last weekend at retail - FAB Optimus redeco, 3x Diecast RPMs.

Plus some comics from Book Depository... plenty more for me to read, if I had the time.

I caved to the joy that is PCC. Over the last few weeks I have obtained wave 1, so Bombshock, Skyburst, Huffer, Smolder and Searchlight. I love their dynamic look that fits with movie and classics, and I can even forgive the bright blue pegs because I understand they serve a purpose - to make a kids toy totally obvious.

And they are just awesome to have lying around, seeings as you can always put together a new creation. I'm considering removing all the faction emblems from the drones so that they can look great together on any faction commander.

I think if they wanted this line to succeed, extra packs of limbs at cheap prices could make them into a very unique transformers experience.

Long Post:

Cant remember the last time I posted in any acquisitions, and I have bought alot of stuff since i started collecting.

But I just had to post about Masterpiece Grimlock. I just cant express how much excitement I have for this figure.

Got it from RK last week, and arrived today. I probably wont have a chance to really open and play around with it till probably the weekend, so Ive decided not to open it yet. This marks a point where I am not going to really buy more figures, until probably the FP protector armor. I am quite content with my collection at the moment- it is also my first masterpiece figure as well.

I bought it because since I got into collecting, ive wanted a g1 grimlock (but don't think that is happening soon) and I love the character from g1.

Furthermore, Ive been amassing my classics/henkei collection (my favorite line after g1), and even though I got henkei grimlock, the mould did not satisfy me. So when some people commented on MP grimlock being a perfect fit with classics figures, I just had to get it.

Ive wanted this figure for a while, and while Ive bought a few expensive items, I couldn't justify the price + shipping of the Takara one. And the wait was really painful- like Id have to watch a MP Grimlock youtube review every few days, but that just added fuel to the anticipation and I almost caved multiple times.

But thank heavens for Hasbro and RK and the fact I dont have to wait anymore. Finally it is sitting here now, and I cant even wait to open and play around, transform and pose this guy and place it with the rest of my classics autobots.

Im gonna need to get up collection pics soon.

Just can't seem to find time for TFs this two weeks, and sadly, ended up missing some key purchases too. C-312 and C-326 arrived about a about 4 days ago. Both MIB with complete paperworks and inserts.

Sixknight is very nice and better than Quickswitch in terms of the colour. Galaxy Shuttle just blew me away. I didn't realise how large this guy is and how large and sturdy his box is.

Where did u get them? TRU? which branch? post some pics :)
Oh, should've been clearer, They're from ebay. I'm fairly certain they weren't released here. ...I've got no idea how I post pics.

On another note, I've finally been able to afford all the stuff i've missed out on since the release of the ROTF Autbot Alliance series and Generations, so that's Leader Class Starscream, Voyager Class Seaspray, Deluxe Battle Blade Bumblebee, Deluxe Ironhide, Scout Hubcap and Brimstone and legends class Ravage, under miscellaneous is Human Alliance Skids and Sideswipe and the Buster Optimus Prime/Jetfire pack .I've spent the last three hours unpacking robots. Very tired. So many neat things. I'll post my thoughts in the various review threads, because I could go on for hours.

Hasbro G1 Reissue Decepticon Seacons aka Piranacon! :D:D:D

http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/a409/Darkone666au/AUG18ACQ-3.jpg

As I've never owned a Seacon before, these guys are really cool and I'm not terribly phased by the missing colour apps but love the chrome! :D as I feel that chrome really doesn't seem to work well on anything apart from G1 for some reason?, IMO.

Looking at Piranacon out of the package, you can see the advances, small as they are, in design of combiners coming through and he certainly seems to be quite a bulky gestalt, though probably because of kibble.
I did think he was big, until I sat him on my desk next to his boss... :p

I do, I just need to check what one. I know I have the one where Cyclonus and Scourge end up on Paradron. Cybertron Revisted I think it's called. I'll have to check. Also, I think the cover of the one I have at home may be less damaged then the one you just got. I have no real interest in keeping the cassettes anyway so I can probably offer that one up as well if you are interested.

No worries. If I find the time when I get home tonight to do it, I'll take some photos and send you them. I may have to leave it until Saturday when I am free, just that we got someone staying with us and he started moving stuff in and is blocking off the boxes in the garage atm.

Definitely interested. I'll take any tapes that's up for offer. :)

I have some TF VHS tapes I don't want anymore including:
+ G1: The Ultimate Doom (PAL)
+ G1: The Headmasters, complete series (NTSC) - taped from Laserdisc box set
+ Beast Wars pilot (PAL)
+ Beast Wars Season 2 complete (PAL)
+ Beast Machines - mostly complete, some eps missing (NTSC) - taped from US TV
...and maybe some other stuff. But you can have them if you want. I'd appreciate trading them for something (doesn't have to be big, even some spare accessories or minor figures), cos except for BM and Headmasters, I purchased all those tapes - and with Headmasters I actually bought all the Beast Machines Dinobots and traded them with a fan in Japan (as those toys were never released by Takara). So I'd like some recompense, but I know that since all these series are readily available on DVD now they're not worth much, so I wouldn't expect a big trade for them either. :) LMK if you're interested.

That version of the Kit IMO suits the ROTF/Universe version of Superion the best. I thought the grey version was a little dull, while this one makes him look more like his G1 self again.

And I too can't wait for the Bruticus upgrade as well, if only I had Bruticus :(

The plate in the top left hand corner of your pic 5FDP I used to own a number of years ago, kindly destroyed by younger siblings..., I picked it up at a Bowral St. Vincent De Paul's OP Shop - 70c...

I've never been able to find another example since, hence the reason I jumped on picking up the Bowl and Cup. :D
