I have seen many customs where the makers have used 'rare earth magnets' to make robot bits stay on.
Does anyone know where one could find such items in Australia?
Thanks

Ebay. I bought 100 x 5mm diameter neodymium magnets for $25.

I'm lucky, there is a magnet supplier down the road from where I work. I've bought heaps of rare earth magnets of varying sizes and they're pretty cheap. I remember the first time I ordered from there I bought 40 3mm diameter ones for $8.00.
This is their website... http://www.magnet.com.au/about
There are others though and I'm sure you could buy online.

Thanks: at the moment I'm trying to work out what's needed.
If I may I will come back to you later.

no worries mate. let me know when you finish planning and are ready to use them.
given that most of my custom projects are on hold these days, those magnets will be sticking around for a while. :p
