I would only expect to be charged the actual shipping based on the size and weight of the package however there are some sellers out there that want to make an extra buck by charging for shipping materials, travel time and petrol used to go to the post office etc. I don't believe in this practice.

I charge for the postage box as it's cost involved in sending someone an item, just like the stamps.

Same from me - if you are buying materials, it's part of the 'shipping' cost (postage is just part of the shipping cost), because boxes at the post office can be a few dollars.
Profit/money from the item itself should really cover time and perpheral extras, and I'd never charge extra for reused items like boxes & bubble-wrap.

I charge material cost, not time or effort. That being said, I have enough packages coming in, that I've never had to purchase packing materials to send stuff out. I just recycle.

Selling here, I only charge however much AusPost charges me for shipping! I also have quite alot of boxes and bubble wraps that I can re-use from previous buys, and of course I don't charge for the scotch tape or paper to write your address and neither do I charge for the labour! :D
But when selling on eBay, I usually add 1-2cm more on the box dimensions just to cover me in case for any extra charges due to actual shipping weight of item.
