let this be a lesson to mums out there who meddle with their kids property. They may be your kids but these are autonomous individuals and those are his property so HANDS OFF!!

"The Gundam figures are like the partners I spend my life with," he reportedly said after pleading guilty at western Kobe's District Court. "I wanted to die with them in a fire if they were to be thrown out."

Umm...
admitted to burning down his family home after his mother threw away some of his favourite robot toys

I still can't believe some parents can be so cruel and stupid as to throw away their kid's favourite toys. Although, in this case we're not talking about a kid. I imagine that they would've had discussions/arguments about him living in her home with 300 toys... but if it really bugged her that much, why didn't she just kick him out? Likewise, if he didn't like her stance on his toys then why didn't _he_ move out?? Surely this situation could've been avoided. (-_-)

...a 30 year old man living with his mum... righteo...
"You live with your mama?"
"No, my mama lives with me. It's a big difference."

I think the article mentions that the mother threw away "some" of the figures.
My assumption was that she only threw some out, not the entire collection- but I could be wrong.
Anyway.. the story does raise an interesting issue- hypothetically:
What would you do if your /family member/partner/spouse threw out all or even some of your collection?

oooh that would be an interesting topic..... we'll get to see the violent sides of the people here hheheh, though I think that would be a topic best at the VS section :p

Discussion of 'what if someone close threw out your TFs' is continued here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=8681).

(-_-) If the dorkwad got so angsty over toys that he got "suicidal" and TORCHED THE HOUSE, then his mother wasn't being a bad person by trying to get rid some of his crap.
Dude was obsessed.

Although, i can kind understand his anger ...
As, this sounds like the story that i vaguely remember "which i hope, that i interpreted reading correctly" sometime between "mid to late last year" to "early on this year" ...
where a mother threw out some high grade Gundam model kits, Which i heard can take ages to build (i don't know what they are) and then burnt the house down out of Frustration/Anger.
But, i think the house is more important than this (especially, in regards to where your parents/family are living ) in fact, i would probably burn the toys down ( "outside of the house in a safe area of course":D) more than the house "i" or "we" are living.
Edit:
I found the link to the story ... and whoops, i mixed it up with one of the comments below the story. :o:o

Follow up story to the one above and it is similar to one posted by SamLoi888...

I think it was on the same site, that i read a story on where a wife threw out her husbands toys (old chokin toys:confused: or something, that he had kept from his childhood who would according to her, take them out and smile at them etc.... ) and asked for advise on another site, on how to convince "or was it explain to" him that he was the wrong one or something like that.
Another Edit:
Here is the link to this, i could be mistaken for this as well :o:o:o http://kotaku.com/5506170/maybe-the-worst-thing-this-wife-could-do

I'd get pretty angsty if someone threw out even one of my toys. Oh wait, I am obsessed. :p But still... I have a friend in Japan who's had similar arguments with his mother... but if I were in the mother's position and I felt that strongly about having so many toys wasting space in the house (and many Japanese houses are pretty small) then I'd just offer a simple ultimatum: either get rid of some toys to make space, or MOVE OUT.
"You don't like it, get the f### out of my house." (Eddie Murphy: Raw)
