How weird. I was going to start the same thread but you beat me to it.

I keep mine in folded in plastic sleeves according to toy line. The problem now is I have to many and need a new way to store them. Any ideas?

Comics and catalogues I keep in a shoe box and cards a kept in card sheets.

It's good to see you have a desiccant silica gel satchet in their too.

If anyone else is thinking of doing something like this then it's probably worth mentioning that resealable plastic bags like those manufactured by Glad will actually trap moisture, hence are not appropriate for paper items or toys with stickers applied for long term storage.

Hmm, interesting. I need to reorganise a little bit. At the moment, I have them arranged according to generation and in a baggy. My G1's for example are cut out and in a resealable bag, but it isn't sealed.

The tin idea I like though. If they have cards, I have them grouped and put into the plastic bags that hole the instructions.

Now though I have a tendency to keep the backing cards as well. Especially with Animated as they didnt have tech specs cards, but the bio and special powers on the backing card. So big and so many. Not too sure what to do with them.

Here's (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=4005&highlight=storage) another older thread on the same topic which may give you some ideas :)

Card sleeves are open on the top. They'll only be wet if you put them in wet.

I'm looking to move my instructions and cards to folders and sleeves from snap lock bags soon. :)

I use snap lock bags for my tech specs and a small photo album (with acid free sleeves) for my instructions.

It depends...
+ trading card sized tech specs = plastic card-holder sleeves in folders
+ non-trading card sized tech specs = roller tool box (http://www.partsquip.com/files/imagecache/Preview/files/line_item_image_10_09/toolbox.JPG) - I keep accessories in there too, but there's one compartment where I keep these tech specs
+ instructions and catalogues: accordion folders - combined weight is heavier than Fortress Maximus! (>5kg!)

the "medium sized" boxes are great for instructions and the "large sized" fits card backs and box backs nicely (aside from supreme sized)

and then they stack on my shelf

This is a well timed thread, coz I have been wondering about trying an alternate storage method.
This is my current sh!tfight:
http://i54.tinypic.com/a2vrev.jpg

I was leaning toward using plastic pockets in a ring binder; sort of one for each bot with all their papers, dvds, print outs, card-backs, or whatever.
I imagine the problem will be with different sized instructions (ie bigger than A4 plastic pocket).
Does anyone use a method like this?

My instructions and catalogues are separated according to different categories in my accordion folders. e.g. one section for Animated, another for Masterpiece and so forth. I have one large accordion folder that looks like this (http://img.en.china.cn/0/0,0,400,16829,500,500,ca638334.jpg) that mostly holds instructions, and another smaller one that looks similar to this (http://www.dataguide.com/Portals/1143/images//f4302.jpg) which mostly holds catalogues.

My TF DVDs are on a small DVD shelf thingie that looks like this:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/goktimusprime/Transformers/collection%202010/collection2010_33dvd.jpg

Other visuals...

The blue ring binder folders contain plastic trading card sleeves that hold all my trading card sized tech specs:

Some of those other folders hold stuff like my fan art, print outs and other misc. TF related documents like my permit to own gun Transformers. :)

My accessories and tech specs that won't fit in the ring-binder folders go into a roller tool box here (in the corner):

There is potential for some G1 transformers stickers to develop fungus in the form of tiny lines because they are in their own sealed little micro climate in these bags whenever the temperature increases and decreases. I don't think this would affect cards in sleeves as there is a slit at the top, and providing you keep them in a stable environment.

Fischer is great, and it's Australian made too. I also use Coates plastic stack able drawers to store various parts.

Solution: apply all stickers. :)

It can happen to both unapplied stickers and stickers that have already been applied on toys. Also on the subject of storage:

A fan kit company should make album sleeves for G1 techspecs. I have lots of them just in a paper bag :o

The problem with that idea is that G1 tech specs don't have a universal standard size. The Sparkabots are a classic example... their tech specs were so huge that they were the only ones that couldn't fit in my S.T.A.R.S. base's tech specs holder! :(

It's possible since most are roughly the same shape. You just make the sleeve pockets as big as the largest techspec out there. Maybe they can have different sizes too like for AM techspecs

That's pretty much stuff you'll find standard at bigw.

I'm considering getting another compartment one, one with compartment drawers. I got one for my meccano, it should be good for tf accessories too. :) Found it at repco, about $10 I think. Best thing is you can wall mount it, or just keep it on a shelf as the compartments are drawers.
