The buzzsaw is from the movie when he is underwater and fighting the big robosquid. The welder from when he gives Kup back his leg which was previously removed by the aforementioned creature.

Pleased with the incusion of the Matrix and welder. Although I don't really see kneeling as a 'gimmick' per se, more like articulation....

The feet on the original were black, as they were die cast, well for Hot Rod anyway...

Definitely looking toward to this one, that's for sure. ;)

They're fine, very fast and professional. They don't charge until the order is in tho, so you won't get billed until January.

Their cheaper price is offset by more expensive shipping tho, compared to Hong Kong sellers. Also the $AUD is reasonably good right now, no telling how it will be compared to the Yen 4 months from now.

Yeah, they're decent to deal with. they usually reply in a timely manner. the only problem is they dont charge until the item(s) become available to ship so you're at the mercy of fluctuating exchange rates.

but by january i think the worst that could happen is the exchange rate will dip and the price will end up becoming about the same as RKs.

And the rear spoiler flips up and over too, hence the massive hole in the Space Winnebago's cabin. Note the circular stud underneath the rear spoiler is at the top of the spoiler in Winnebago Mode.

as part of the 2010 TakaraTomy celebration? when you buy certain Transformers (in my case Crystal Animated Optimus + Rodimus) there is a little square on the packaging with a number of points (mine was 1pt)

I think things like Unicron and Primus give more points.

I suspect that the robot points will probably be printed on an inside box flap rather than anywhere on the outside of the box. This has been TakaraTOMY's standard practice since Beast Wars. :)

Ah, ok - Well I certainly hope that they are printed on a separate flap because I really can't imagine many people being all too willing to cut up their Unicron, Primus or Sleepy-mus Prime boxes just for a re-purposed stand. :p

The only thing that may be a bit of a bother is that it may not have the Matrix or room to store it within his chest. On the other hand, Matrixes are now a dime a dozen so that's not a big deal if you want to display your Rodimus with one.

Really? Other than Primes trailer I can't think of any MP's that were reissued by Takaratomy with new features. Hasbro may, but they may just lose the trailer too.

Oh man that is going to be a big box to try and fit somewhere.
But the picture of Rodimus on the stand looks awesome.

The stand doesn't come with the toy, so you don't have to worry about it not looking right with Rodimus, or if it will make the box a lot bigger.
It's a mail-away item, using the robot points that were included with each of the 2010 toys.
For those that do want the stand (who don't already have the Hasbro Optimus one), it may end up being a bit pricey to acquire.

Not really. Remember that this toy is being marketed at a Japanese market, and most Japanese people don't understand English. But they do see English text as a pretty looking decorative ornament. Nobody actually CARES what it means or if it's correct... people just look at it and think, "Ooh cool... English."

I find it far more offensive when HASBRO can't write English properly... like Grappel. GRAPPEL?? It doesn't even _sound_ the same. I would pronounce Grappel as "Grap-Pell"... Hasbro is a company based in an Anglophone country staffed by many fluent and literate speakers of English marketing its toys at an Anglophone market... and they give us names like "Grappel"?!? That's just... spastic!
