Hi guys and gals, just found your forum while searching for some different transformers figures and what not the other night.
after a bit of a search through the info you have i thought i would join up and hopefully I can contribute and be a frequent member of your forum.

Now to the introduction i suppose......i am 28yo and from Adelaide and has been a huge fan of transformers since gen1. as a child my grandfather spoiled the hell out of me by taking me to kmart whenever i saw him to buy a new toy. Usually that would mean a new transformer but i loved most of the great toys from the 80s like heman, voltron, dinoriders and m.a.s.k but transformers were always my fave

Once I grew a little older I decided to sell off my very large collection of transformers to fund my new love......video games. this i am still kicking myself for but hey what can i do, im sure you guys have hundreds of the same stories haha.

Now to the present. i re-bought a gen1 optimus prime about 15 years ago and decided to start collecting optimus primes (along with all sorts of other non transformers figurines) I have roughly 20 optimus related figures/statues along with various other transformers ive found over the years. i haven't ventured too far into the Japanese convoy/optimus' but if i find something for the right price i will snap it up.

Although i would love to attempt to complete the whole gen1 series i think its a pipe dream because i have too many hobbies/collections to begin with as I'm heavily into comic books, arcade machines, vintage video game consoles not to mention other action figures and figurines.

if people are interested i will post up some pictures of my transformer collection along with my other figures and what not. just gotta find my camera.

anyway i think my introduction is long enough so i might sign out.

Cheers,
Osty

yeah nba jam is good fun always gets a work out with a few mates over with some beers! best thing with these is you can plug any standard arcade game into them to play....just like a big videogame console really hahah

how long does it take to access the full site? is it time, post based or is it just to the mods discretion? im curious what the rest of the site has to offer :)

Bar Weep Gwar-Nar Weep Nini Bon! :D

Greetings and Welcome to OZFormers.

Just for future reference Ostybeef, Creative material and Collection photos go here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=15), also, IMG in posts are perfectly acceptable as I use Photobucket myself. :)

Also, with regards to greater access to the boards, it's kind of a mixture of Time, Posts and Admin Discretion but don't let that deter you.

Being an active member just basically requires you to constructively contribute to discussions on the board (Whatever subjects take your interest :)) and contributing news, sightings in your local area, photos and fan media when/where/if you can. ;)

But the main thing is to enjoy yourself, if you've got any questions about anything TF? don't be afraid to ask as we are all newbs in certain areas and I myself have found that the members on this baord are very friendly and helpful and the collective knowledge of the members on this forum can be quite astounding! :D

I hope that helps and that you enjoy your time here on OTCA.

I'm now off to look at some your pics. :p

Welcome to the forums Ostybeef :) Nice looking collection you have there, especially like the arcade machines. I had a MKII one (original cabinet and all) which I bought through the trading post around 1997 for 2k. It was sold off due to lack of room several years ago :(

cheers for the welcomes guys!
looking through peoples signature links and what not at everyones collections makes mine seem a little lame hahaha amazing stuff you guys have.
I cant wait to become a full member so i can see everyones pictures.
your all going to inspire me to get more transformers and inturn go more broke than i already am at the moment haha

5FDP - too bad about getting rid of the machine, they still pop up every now and then for sale but they are getting rarer and rarer all the time especially if it was dedicated with all the side art and what not. dont think you would be looking at as much as 2k tho these days

liegeprime - now i gotta chase that one up they look very cool

very long story.
got the nickname osty in primary school (even longer story) then while watching behind the news in school there was a story on "aussie beef" getting sold to the japanese.......their advert in japan sounded like "osty beef" and well......got called that for a while and has been my internet handle since i have had the internet haha.

so for 20 years ive been called Osty....only people who call me by my real name is my family

Many of my mates have had the same sort of thing happen to them! :D

Their nicknames have absolutely no baring on their actual names and it is rare to ever hear their actual names, lol. :p

Me?, I just got my last name for a nickname - Hursty. ;)

That is a pretty interesting genesis to the Net Handle and Nickname though Osty, it's pretty cool IMO. :)

Yeah, only my family and workmates call me by my mundane name. Most folks call me "Gok" or "Goki" IRL. :)
