Apparently the new deluxe figures will not contain the Generations subline name (nor the current Autobot Alliance line), but will retain the yellow packaging look with Reveal the Shield. Wave 4 of the deluxes (Jazz, Tracks, Fallback and Mindset) in packaging:

This is insanity. There doesn't seem to be any sort of coherence at all when it comes to lines.

Ummm....isn't putting all the toys into the same packaging coherence?

Anyhoo....Jazz And Tracks, can't wait for 2011. I mean, one year to the Apocalypse but Jazz AND Tracks. And Perceptor, and Wreck-Gar. Sweet.

Tracks was the only one of those four that was supposed to be in Generations anyway, so we could still have Generations... I'm not seeing anywhere yet that officially says this 'Reveal the Shield' subline is replacing Generations as well.
To me it looks like 'RtS' is just replacing the 'HftD' sub-logo, for the remaining six months of pre-movie toys. (I am happy to be corrected on this though)

RTS seems to do with rub symbols.

The only confusion for me right now is what is out and what is coming.

Actually, according to BBTS's pages, Generations is alive and well in 2011. It's just that Jazz and Tracks are part of the other line. I guess that's further reinforcement that G1 characters can be part of either line. Will be interesting to see TT's take as I would hope that Tracks and Jazz are part of United.

Please please please don't create an even more idiotic acronym now that these are not Generations toys.

I kinda like the idea. It is obviously referring to rub signs. If you look the front gives no clue to if it is an Autobot or Decepticon (although we already know them, it is aimed at the kiddies who have no idea who Jazz is). Kinda quirky

This is insanity. There doesn't seem to be any sort of coherence at all when it comes to lines. From what I understand, all of these figures (Generations, Movie-looking guys and actual Movie characters) were all part of the same line. Hasbro created Generations as a means to get more products on shelves at the same time as the more retailer-attractive yellow box line.

I think there was just a larger number of figures initially than they could fit into the yellow box line, and now that the glut has been cleared out, they're reformed under the yellow packaging with the rubsign gimmick.

It's basically just like the old Universe line now, except without an obvious "G1 SERIES" or something blurb.

I do like the emphasis on the rub symbols but how will parents understand.....

Wait, i am a parent :P

A 'new' line already? Yet one that incorporates the idea of the past 3 or 4 lines (i've lost count)

Oh wait..I get it. Hasbro is run by Monkeys. Or people just spinning a wheel " I don't know" -Spins wheel- "Lets just see what happens. In the meantime repaint some more Bumblebees"

I wouldn't mind the blue (glyph) repaint of henkei bumblebee.

That's interesting - I wonder what's written on the back of the box... from the front and general lack of insignias, it gives the impression that the buyer might not find out the allegiance of the toy until he/she opens it up and rubs the 'shield'.

Hey, I think you're right. Actually looking at it, yea, there is no indication on what side it's on. Wow, a gimmick that seems to be actually worth something. :)

How funny would it be if you got a RtS toy, rubbed the sticker and... FIRE?! Okay, which wise guy in the factory went and stuck a Battle Beast rub sign on this toy?! :p :p

I suspect that they may be the same as the legend class toys from the same line - no insignia on the front of the packet but they all have the corresponding faction symbols on the reverse.

Hey, maybe they should make Legends Class Mini-Spies (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Mini-spy)! Unlike any other G1-based TF character like Tracks, Jazz, Grapple etc. where the character is recognisable as Autobot or Decepticon, with the Mini-Spies there would be no way to immediately tell until you buy the toy and rub the sticker. :)

You are right, there is coherence in the consistency of chaos. I wonder if in 3 months time they'll change the Reveal the Shield line to something else and why not call them RPMs next time around?
