I voted only if___It had other colours.
I saw this the other day and thought it looked really boring. I don't even think it would be worth it cheap. The original release while not G1 accurate had more detail due to the colours used.
It just looks plain green.

I've got the Japanese version released a while ago and while I'm not one of those people that instantly thinks that Japanese releases are better than western releases, its the case here. The added use of purple really sells that set, whereas this just feels unfinished.

It's just...green. It just all merges together. Theres no definition in it.

I've seen this toy here a few times at TRU. Doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I totally agree. Looks too plain and boring. And really, when I remove my G1 bias, so does the original G1 Devastator. The original colours onDiaclone Devastator (Kensetsusha Robo) (http://diaclone.net/orid/diabuild/index.html) look better IMO - hence why I was excited when I saw images of ROTF Devastator as I thought the multiple colours not only looked nicer but was also a nice homage (possibly unintended) to Diaclone multicoloured Devastator. :)

You'd think they would have added something to it. G1 Devestator was green but he also had the purple parts, this one's only extra colour is white and it doesn't work.

Ugly toy from an even uglier movie. Most the individual bots look like they were designed by a blind, cerebral palsy sufferer. Pointless repaint to cash in on consumer's mindless obsessiveness.

Not interested.

I prefer the added purple of the Japanese release. They can work great in alt mode in a G1 city display. (Psst. I've got a few for sale)

So the differences between this and the Japanese version

So both sets of figures have an almost neon green as their base colour, dark grey treads, and light grey paint apps on Demolishor. The differences are -

Paint Apps: The Hasbro release has a dirt wash look on the figures, but that's it.

The Japanese release has purple on the figures, red for the eyes, and painted dark grey details on the figures, none of which are present on the Hasbro release. Also the Japanese release has a metallic paint wash effect on the combined mode face and mechanical detail on the neck painted in red, both lacking in the Hasbro release.

The light grey is on the same places on both sets.

Windshields: Hasbro release has them in a dark purple (almost grey it's that dark).

Japanese version has them in a more traditional constructicon purple.

Faction Symbol: On the Hasbro release it's the same purple as the windshields.

On the Japanese release they're a slightly darker purple than used elsewhere on the figures, except on Mixmaster which is a more traditional looking faction symbol with a white border (to distinguish the purple symbol from the purple mixing drum).

EDIT: Overload has a symbol like that too.

Overall this set looks cheap and horrid. Which is a shame because in terms of the figures themselves I think they're really really nice and definitely worth a buy. Just not this. Get the normal release over this, or indeed get the Japanese version of the G1 homage set.
