I want to swap classics/universe Sideswipe and Red Alert arms (like this: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/337971-make-your-own-united-red-alert.html ) but can't figure out how to get the door panels off the forearms.

Has anyone done this successfully or got any ideas?

If you look at the back of the arm, you can push it apart.

I just pulled them out, simple snap fit. The visible screw secures the snap fit bit to the door. I could be wrong, but it worked for me. Hope it helps.

I'll post up pics later tonite if you want to see the detailing on the snap fit bit on the door.

ive pulled off the door panels before.

just brace the surrounding area and use a bit of force.
its held in place by a connector joint that sort of resembles the circular lego technic connectors. it can simply be clicked back in again later on.

Thanks to Bruticus and grimlock531: it worked a treat. I was a bit nervous taking the first one off but after that it was smooth sailing.
