That guy couldn't be more Conan, dress him up in a suit and he could be an action figure of the former Governator :).

I like how they are expanding the lore by adding history between the era of King Grayskull and that of Prince Adam by adding 'sub' He-Men in between as guardians.

They should expand on who was the main villain for each era.

Btw I'm not sure but wasnt the original MOTU line going to be a Conan movie line but they Didnt get the right's or something and they had this whole line all slated to go,So they went with MOTU and created there own character's.

There is an enduring urban legend about the so-called "Conan toyline." The story is that the Mattel Toy Company originally intended to base an action figure line on Conan the Barbarian, the pulp fantasy character created by Robert E. Howard which at the time was the lead in several popular series produced by Marvel Comics and due to be the subject of a major movie. However, after viewing the film, the Mattel executives despaired at the thought of promoting a children's toy with ties to a film featuring such graphic sex and violence. Thus they gave their doll blonde hair and re-dubbed him "He-Man". I personally do feel that Conan is more of a source of inspiration for MOTU rather than being directly based upon.

You can notice that early comics and depictions of the characters and as the article above states, that is likely the source of the rumor about MOTU originally intended to be Conan.

I don't care what he's called. This dude is Conan. So much so I hope Mattel doesn't get sued by Robert E. Howard's estate. I love the all the prototype/concept characters in MOTUC. Not really a fan of the multiple He-Men idea but as long as I get a He-Ro, son of he-man figure in the next five years I'll be happy.

Fascinating. I looked up Remco and discovered that this Conan figure is actually from 1984 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remco) so it was released a couple of years after MOTU debuted.

It is more likely that these Conan figures although not exactly KOs, are mimicking the toy style of MOTU since by then it had proven to be a successful toy line.

The first link could easily be mistaken for Conan. It is clear that although early He-Man may not have been intended to be Conan, that it was heavily influenced by it.

Aaah so that's who He-ro is.... but then does that mean he got killed in battle - "heroic death" it says in the figure info. I've been doing some looking around and "Vikor" looks exactly like Frank Frazetta's version of Conan! I'm halfway tempted to run screaming through streets yelling "Vikor is Conan! Open your eyes people!!"

And on another note, if Mattel is so Gung-Ho for their Proto-He-men, Who else is wanting an MOTUC Blackstar?

Apparently not all of these figures are Knock Offs. For example Argentina's Fuerza T (http://www.brianstoys.com/store/category.aspx?categoryID=2193) which is composed of characters with mismatched parts from the MOTU line are not KOs at all.

Mattel seems to have been just as shortsighted as Hasbro on the future of the line and decided to sell off the original MOTU molds once their production runs were over. In the case of Fuerza T, an Argentinian toy company bought the molds and created it's own unique and perfectly legit line of action figures using MOTU molds.

Your right about Fuerza T i love those mix and match parts and colour combos they did,from what i remember mattel had to buy all the original motu toys off ebay to make new molds for the reissue line a while back.

Great news for us MOTUC fans, Vikor's ankles have been changed to remove the unsightly holes, and fix the floppy problems!

Looking ahead, I wonder if they can do this to the other joints as well, cause that would surely be awesome!

I am not sure if this has been done for aesthetic value only or to tackle the loose ankle joint problem. With the original 'system' there was no need for the external peg hole to begin with as the inner 'peg' is fairly deep within the hole.

I can't believe it - I've emailed them and said I only ordered 1, but they said it's too late to cancel the other 2 cos they've already been shipped. Seriously, Digital River/Matty are useless. Absolutely useless!

So now I have 2 extra Buzz Offs I've been charged for and don't want! I'm happy to sell them if anyone wants them. What a joke - Why couldn't they make this mistake when I wanted Trap Jaw?! Unbelievable.

I am not sure if I should get that Evil-Lyn, I was hoping for a white skinned one like the cartoon and that magazine scan. I guess that I could sell the loose Evil-Lyn I have currently.
