Ok so I LOVE the Classics, Universe 2.0, Generations, Heneki, Reveal the Shield and United toy lines, abosolute pure LOVE. It has been my mission to try and get as many of the toys as I can and have a full set sealed, as well as opening the figures I like. Now I have run into some issues with Botcon stuff and other crazy expensive items, but that is another story.

My current issue is Hunt for the Decepticon new molds and repaints.
Hasbro has clearly stated a few times that Voyager Sea Spray is a Classics verse character, while the toy bio is movie releated. Also released are Sandstorm and Tracker Hound - Universe 2.0 molds, repainted into HFTD

I am trying to decide if these three figures should make it into my SEALED CHUGRtSU collection or not. So, what do you people think?

I consider Sea Spray to be part of movieverse due to what toy continuity has established. Also the HFTD game places itself in movie continuity.

But ultimate they're your toys and nobody's gonna stop you if you wanna display them with your Classicsverses. :) I'm currently displaying my Device Label Soundwave, Rumble and Frenzy on my Classicsverse Decepticons shelf even though they really aren't.

I have a similar goal- collect g1 inspired classics moulds (usually japanese version i.e. henkei over universe counterpart)- to have a set mib for display and a sealed set- Don't know if I can achieve this.

As to your issue- I think whether to include a figure is up to one's own interpretation/discretion.

Sizing and scale matters to me - doesn't have to be 100% accurate- but minibots like powerglide and seaspray should not be bigger than optimus prime- I thus don't like their incarnations being offered and don't consider them part of my classics collection.

Non-classics branded figs I have included are Device label Blaster and Music Label Soundwave as part of classics. MP Grimlock is my preferred one over the henkei/universe version.

Third Party items are also a huge consideration for me- such as FansProjects City Commander, Warbot Defender, Protector, G3 Trailer, Superion and Bruticus upgrades and other unofficial classics inspired moulds are for me, definitely part of my classics line up and it wouldn't be complete without them.

I'm with you on the LOVE. I'm also a HUGE fan of G1 Seaspray. It holds a very special place in my childhood toy memories. As much as I hoped, wanted, wished and made excuses to rationalize him as Classicsish, the shoe just doesn't fit. He's a movie toy.

Well it's really up to you Zippo, I for one have my Seaspray in the Classicverse display area, along with Bludgeon. In my view of things he fits well , for me. SO it really depends on your view on where the figure will fit really coz like some of the newer scouts (HfTD) have their bios to match an interaction backstory of sorts with Seaspray.... but I just tend to get the info in and then discard:p the ones unnecessary in liegeverse:D.

Doesn't the TOMY version have more G1 accurate colours? Maybe get a Hasbro version to display with movieverse and a TOMY version to display with Classicsverse.

Some people are missing the point of my question - its not how I display these toys but its if I get seconds to keep sealed in my Classics etc collection.

I don't see these toys holding their value like the other aspects of your sealed collection, so I wouldn't bother. Then again, if you can get 'em dirt cheap, why not.

Ive been thinking about this question myself. Abut my 'classicverse' if you will. Ivedecided a mix of toys that seem to fit on some level works. For example I use Cybertron Downshift as another Earth Autobot. Dinobot and Cheetor are Autobotsworking on a different worrlld, as are Cybertron Defence Scattershot, Excellion and Red Alert (Who I call Payload). the IDW universe and Cybertron show inspired this in alot of ways; the idea of TF's on different worlds appeals to me greatly, it was my favorite plot point of Cybertron.
My Earth unit consists of Prime, Hound, Blurr, Bumblebee, Drift, Red Alert, Springer, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Prowl, Silverstreak Tomahawk, Seaspray, Mirage, Huffer and Ironhide. currnt Autobots that I own that fit the same universe but work offworld are Hotshot, Cheetor, Dinobot, Jetfire, Ultra Magnus, Wheelie, Excellion, Scattershot, Payload, Towline, Beachcomber, Hotrod and Hubcap.

obviously I have some gaps in my collection. Cybertron red Alert (Which I owned but cant find for the life of me, so I bought it again) will act as First Aid, the medic for the Earth Autobots. Grapple (Also on his way) will also join the Earth team. Anyone else I take as a case by case thing.
