After reading The Last Stand of the Wreckers I decided I wanted to collect them all, past and present. What are their names and what is the best toy representation of them?

(gave this its own topic, as it could be interesting if we delve into the classic wreckers as well as the contemporary ones)

If you are looking for an Impactor or Rack'n'Ruin toy you're in for a disappointment.

Most of the characters only have one toy of their G1 forms despite their names being reused. Recent(ish) repaints of Hot Shot and Ultra Magnus as Roadbuster and Blackout and Evac as Whirl don't really resemble the G1 toys apart from their colours.

The Wreckers are the G1 toys the US cartoon and comic rejected. Having the original G1 figures seems the best fit to me.

The Botcon/Universe Wreckers are also hard to get since some of them were never released as toys.

i would love modern versions of twin twist and topspin... which come with a variaty of weapons..... but have to love the originals...

IMO G2 Hero Megatron (or Archforce) could be repainted/retooled as Impactor. HasTak probably still have the mould too (as it was repainted as Bludgeon a few years ago). In the Gokiverse, the e-Hobby exclusive Super Link Fire Grand Convoy and Black Rodimus Convoy are 'Super Link Rack 'N' Ruin' ;)

Would you still want them to have Jumpstarter gimmicks? It's a fun gimmick*, but you'd sacrifice posability for it.

------
*Happy Meal Armada Starscream's Jumpstarter gimmick is much improved over the G1 Jumpstarters IMO, which makes the gimmick even more fun to play with. And that's just on a $2 Happy Meal toy... part of me would be excited to see how well they could make that gimmick work on a more expensive Deluxe sized figure (or even Scout - the Jumpstarters were always the shortest members of the Wreckers anyway ;))

Welcome to the club buddy, collecting the cast of LSotW is my current obsession also. :D

Thanks for the mention, jaydisc. :) My next project will be Predator Snare using the Terradive mold, so we can add that one to the pile too (or are we just specifically talking about the Wreckers team here?).

I can't believe I hadn't thought of Fansproject Defender as LSotW Springer! That's brilliant, guess I know what I'm buying next...

I'm a Pyro missile and a Guzzle short of the LSotW 'expendables'.:( If money allows Defender, Kup and Perceptor are on the list, as is a Stalker.
Though I wouldn't mind repainting a Cybertron Defense Red Alert for an Odieverse Stalker either.

I have been after a vintage Pyro for ages but haven't found one at a decent price. Even junkers go for crazy prices.

Thankfully I have a Botcon Pyro so I do have the character as ironically enough it is the cheaper and more accessible toy of him.

I really wish the 3rd parties would do figures like a Classics Whirl, Impactor and Rack 'n' Ruin. Although I am satisfied with my Nanobot upgraded Universe Roadbuster, I wouldn't mind a FansProject version of him.

Hehe, funny, this morning while cleaning some of my G1 shelves Ive been thinking how nice it would be to have an updated version of Twintwist and Topspin. Then I went online and find this thread :D

@LCO - Jaydisc has already mentioned what the modern day (more articulate) representations of the Figures/characters you can possibly get ( except the DD Rotorstorm - I guess you'll have to pay him a lot to make you one, or mebbe pry his one from his lifeless corpse (hopefully the latter will suffice :p)

or you could go brickville and just try and get the original versions and as Paulbot has said there's no Rackn'ruin or Impactor toy (yet) made as these were original characters by the Furman and unless Hasbro thinks there's merit (unknown Hasbro standard:p) to making one they wont do one ( looks at Gen Drift toy);)

If you do choose to go vintage brickville just grab the core (IMO) group first as they are easier to get ( just beware of KOs) then add and add some more from the various incarnations of TF lore as listed in the Tf wiki links provided before by others. CHeers!

Thanks guys, lots of ideas.
I've always wanted to get g2 pyro cause I have clench. One question though: can you combine pyro with his trailer as he appears in the comics? I've heard reports that it's possible with clench but can't find any pics on it.

Pyro's trailer attaches (snaps into place) in vehicle mode and he can use it as a battle platform in robot mode, but that's all. I don't recall the comic version doing anything but showing a more bulkier more poseable version of the toy's default robot mode.

In last stand pyro has his trailer cannon on his shoulder. I read about the robot combined mode in the ultimate transformer guide ( dk I think) but I'm sire I've read it elsewhere.

The toy isn't designed to do that. The trailer cannon is firmly attached to the trailer as I recall. If however t broke off due to Gold Plastic Syndrome you could mount it on the shoulder and stick it there with glue.

FR did a decent Guzzle (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transtopia-masterclass-guzzle/20243/)

I like it other than the alt mode.
