The Wreckgar Retool's repaint looks pretty good IMO, differentiates him from his boss and I'm actually considering picking up the Decepticon 3pack to be my Heralds of Unicron. ;):D

I believe that the Decepticons are clear because they represent the 'morphing' that we saw in Transformers: The Movie when Unicron turned Megatron into Galvatron and in turn Scourge and Cyclonus.

I think that he is supposed to be glowing with the light of the Matrix before morphing into Rodimus Prime.

The deceps were reformatted, hence the clear to represent that. The bots - hotrod's clear cause of the matrix. (: the other two have no reason to be clear!

The 'Cons, meh. Don't really care for translucent figures anyway. Rodimus is a meh as well. Kup does look fantastic, and I love the intentional blocking of the junkion face. Will be cool to see what he looks like.

That was my first thought. Zero interest in the blue/green version of Hot Rod. Kup looks nice but I'll wait for the regular United version. (Surely they could have had this battle damaged Kup missing an arm and leg so Hot Rod could fix him... ;) ). The reformatting Decepticons is a nice gimmick but not enought to buy more of those toys. They need a United Bombshell for you to be able to set up the transformation scene in your display anyway :p

That is actually my estimated price (based on yesterday's exchange rate and historical shipping prices) INCLUDING shipping to Melbourne or Sunshine Coast. Interstate to NSW, WA, etc. would be additional. So, if you're in VIC or QLD, I'm cheaper than RK, but for NSW and WA, I think RK's direct shipping will work out to be cheaper.

I think Rodimus in blue does not really suit....(unless this version is holding a Matrix!)
Kup looks great, but normal version is still fine by me.

I'm not sure why they chose to give Rodimus a solid green chest. If they kept the figure just different shades of blue it might have looked a bit closer to the final featureless shot of the reformatting Rodimus Prime from TFTM.

I would have thought Unicron would have been more befitting...seeing as he created these Cons (hence the reformatting redeco) and was in the final battle scene with the Bots (where Hot Rod is bathed in the glow of the Matrix)

From the movie, it's really only appropriate for Hot Rod and Kup. But it's arguably suitable for Transformers 2010 as an entire series franchise, since the Quintessons do interact (or at least appear) with all those toys in some way or another.

if i remember right, the quintessons created transformers on cybertron. they became sentient and revolted and drove the quints away. which is why they want to destroy all autobots and decepticons for the theft of cybertron.

Gah this thread is covered with nerd drool! Can see you all salivating over Kup/The Junkion/Scourge :p These are excellent modern renditions of the olde G1 bricks that made Transformers what it is today.

It'd be great to walk past the toy isle and see these guys at local stores soon. Might even be tempted to break my vintage G1 purity seal and buy Kup just because he looks so damn awesome.

for me its worth it. hot rod was revealed to be more of a green colour so he wont clash with tfcc sideburn's blue, i didnt end up buying united kup either and wreckgar retool is a new head!

as for the decepticons, even though i hate the galvatron mold, they all look awesome as clear plastic.

So i got my decepticon three pack. I love the look of them, dont get me wrong. But my Galvatron is as flimsy as all sh*t. Most of all on the leg/hip joints. My galvatron will not stand upright AT ALL coz it just flops. Anyone elses like this? I'm gonna have to stick blu tack to make it stand i think which is a damn shame. Really not happy about that... :mad:

It might be mold degradation or just poor quality control since even the previous releases of Galvatron (Henkei, Universe & Universe 3-Pack) have issues standing upright (at least on my ones).

I won't be opening my 3-pack when it arrives, so sadly won't be able to comment on the quality of the eHobby one.
