:)I have a new old urge. I used to collect Micronauts in the mid to late 70's and now have the urge to start collecting them again. They are of course called Microman in Japan. Does anyone on this board have any they want to sell to me, both the new japanese ones and the old 70's micronauts:D.

Showing your age there aren't you.:p

I trust you are aware that a large portion of board members (myself included) weren't even born in the 70's? (I'm pretty sure you know this again I just wanted to point out your age lol:p) How could we have toys when we weren't around?:p:D

Truth be told my brother used to collect them. I'm seeing him on the weekend at a family wedding so I'll ask him for you:)

I wouldn't know the first thing about Micronauts/Microman but my internet travels have led to me stumbling across this:

They reissued the original Microman figures in Japan a few years ago. I picked one up from HLJ. I've actually grabbed quite a few of the newer series from HLJ as well. They're great figures, so I'm not selling mine - but take a look at HLJ's stock.

I saw quite a few of those new Micromen in Japan, but the old ones were before my time. They look pretty cool but fortunately I didn't give in to the desire to get any, got enough other collections going atm.

Hey 1orion

Asked my brother on the weekend about his Micronauts. They got lost/destroyed a few years ago when his unit in Wollongong was raided by Bikers because his gf at the time had run up a huge drug debt with them.

Hey this stuff happens:)

Yep and the gong has quite a seedy underbelly I found out. Not the sort of people you would like to associate with.

Well everything got lost/destroyed but yeah I can imagine a big hairy biker swinging a curtain rod (apparently one of the weapoms of choice) screaming "Death to the micronauts!"

The Magne Force are awesome, Fraser. They're so much fun to pose hanging off the fridge or whatever.

I quite like the Biomachine lot, also. I should really get off my skidplate and take some photos of my small collection...

:)I'm looking forward to them showing up:D. It's terrible, I can bid on about ten different things and it doesn't get anywhere near as expensive as TF's, this I found out has become a real trap. I now have bids on about 10 different things:eek:. The unfortunate thing is the postage, OH the horror, I'm pretty sure at the moment postage has been costing me almost the same as what I buy the items for. Most of my current bids are with one seller who gives big postal discounts on more than one item, that and he's in the U.K so postage is a lot cheaper from there anyway:D.

dirge
23rd April 2008, 10:00 PM
I actually picked most of mine up from HLJ, with a smattering from local anime-focused stores.

So none were particularly expensive, and I was usually bundling them in with Transformers, meaning the postage costs were negligible.

I haven't picked any up for a while since TakaraTomy seem to have gone really quiet on Microman. I'm more than happy with my little collection as it stands, mind you.

:eek:Bought another 6 today:eek:. I just get so many more things to muck around with for my money that i don't seem to be able to stop:D. I looked at HLJ but at the moment it seems to be cheaper off ebay if i hunt around. I saw one item for $100 U.S buy it now and found one on the net with a starting price of $10.00, I put a bid for $25.00 but as usual I was sniped. I love your collection pics Dirge, have you got anymore to put up:).

Most of the auctions were wins, i have found the U.K postage to be far cheaper and faster than any of the other countries but items coming from japan are a close second. If i remeber rightly the postage from my U.K lot was about $30 Aus compared to about $48.00 Aus for the equivalent package that takes longer to get here from the U.S. You can find complete lots of 4 at reasonable prices(about $45.00 Aus) with the postage being about $30.00 Aus depending on where it's coming from:).

Pallisades re-released them so a boxed Karza and Steed(forgot name:o) only cost me $45.00 U.S but the Force Commander was re-released in limited quantities from what I can tell and normally goes for about $150.00 U.S. I'll post pics up later of the boxed set as obviously I haven't yet:o.

The only Microman toys I have are ones related to Transformers:
i.e.: G1 Minibots, G1 (1984) Megatron, G1 (1984) Soundwave, early Decepticon cassettes, Blaster - and Microman-Transformers "Crossover" toys (Kicker and Gamede). That's pretty much it.

Anyway, here's some Microman videos - the music is sung by Mizuki Ichiro also performed in the Japanese Transformers Animated opening theme (http://www.youtube.com/user/goktimusprime#p/a/f/0/RWjXcmBjJXg). :)
+ MC07 Gun Robo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXjtvYwqRzY) (pre-TF Browning)
+ "Browning" vs Acro Saturn (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdmlPIXC4OM&NR=1)

+ Watch Robo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82-y9LE3ivE&NR=1) (never released in TFs, but damn they're cool - I used to have one as a kid)
