I just listened to this song (here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyPf0Xq5M2o)) and it's similar to 'What I've Done' in the way it's not as aggressive but takes on a much calmer tone. However this song I consider to be even LESS aggressive/emotionally driven than 'What I've Done'. What do you think of this song becoming involved in DOTM?

I hate everything by Linkin Park. This included.

Terrible.

LOL - what music would you have liked to go along with the TF movies?

I've just read all the nerd rage over at TFW regarding this rumour

Now, just to be clear, I LOVE their new album A Thousand Suns and have been listening to it repeatedly since it came out last year but... it doesn't fit when you consider LP's songs for the first two movies.

I would've really liked them to come up with something new for DOTM however I'm not going to 'hulk out' if this rumour proves to be true.

Well, lets just say Linkin Park fits perfectly, particularly for RotF.

But not sure why the movies even need a 'song'/band. Movies like Inception didn't need them and Tron: Legacy has an amazing score by Daft Punk. They dont whiny NuMetal songs.

Actually I agree with what you said there haha. The Tron Legacy soundtrack is amazing. I think the 'whiny' numetal is what attracts the majority of the TF audience - young boys all the way up to 20 year old something men (and yes I know it can be aimed at females too, even my ex-employer was a fan). But I do think that this particular song lacks that emotional drive that New Divide had that made ROTF so dramatic. Ah well, like 5FDP said it's just a rumor for now...

They should have used BLACKOUT!

I'm gonna Hulk-out if it's true :p

But seriously though, I can't stand LP anyway, but I put up with it in the last movies because I went to see them for the movie, not their music. And it was only the ending credits anyway, so I leave by then anyway :p

This is just probably me, but I prefer a heavy metal soundtrack like we got for the 86 movie :p

Don't worry I like them too. Numb (Encore) is on my most played list on my ipod.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't listen to em, they are just not my cup of tea. Back when they came out, I liked em, but I grew out of it into other kinds of music. Each to their own really.

That, and I just feel they need to change the band for the next movie IMO.

Its alright, as long as they dont play it like 43 times during the movie.

Yeah that Heavy Metal Transformers theme was awesome. :D

That and Dare to Be Stupid. Now I'm just being a jerk. :p

But on a serious note, not a big fan of Linkin Park, like listening to some of their newer stuff, so probably more impartial in general towards them.

I like the idea of keeping them puring from a continuity perspective, though I wasn't that big a fan of their work in RotF, so would hope for a better job in the new one.

Bring back Stan Bush with The Touch! :D

He already tried to make a comeback with The Touch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3_EXxwDpq0) for ROTF.

Yeah, that's right. Just when everyone thought they had the image of the 'creepy guitar guy' out of their head, I go and post a link to the video :D

I'm probably going to get banned aren't I :p

Wow how they could turn an anthem fueled with inspiration into a depressing rendition? Stan Bush man, you USED to be cool, what happened to you? :p

That is the gayest music video i have ever seen. The rapper has a worried look on his face and couldn't rap a xmas present, Stan looks like he's being forced to make the video, and the guitarist looks like a paedophile.
