I suppose it's a good thing that Hasbro has decided to re-do some of the original 1986 Movie cast, but I was never a fan of the Junkions to start with.
Here we have the first release (of at least another 2 redecos apparently) of this mold, Wreck Gar.
He's a nice homage to the original character and is sculpted very nicely with excellent articulation and poseability.
The transformation is quite simplistic - so much so that it makes me think that Hasbro must have gotten a 5 year old to rate it as "Intermediate" in difficulty.
Wreck Gar displays very well and his hand held weapon is very cool - my only gripe about this guy is the abundance of Hasbro grey on him.
For you customizers out there, cover up the grey with some paint and while you're at, apply some to his weapon and voila - he's complete!
This guy's worth paying $20 for, but definitely not worth full freight IMO.
I give it a rating of 7.5/10 (only because I don't like the Junkions and the abundance of Hasbro grey on this guy, most people would probably rate him an 8 or 8.5)

Correct. From RK - cheaper than retail (even when you factor in shipping) and you get it a lot sooner.
RTS Wave 1 (Jazz, Tracks, et al) hasn't even launched here yet (have had mine since early Dec) so the likelihood of Wave 2 arriving in retail is still a few month away IMO.

The number plate is a very nice touch. and I do like the pinstriping but the chrome wheels and coloured headlights on the Henkai version really do stand out. I may get the reprolabels kit for jazz anyway and add some of the other details.:D
thanks for the heads up though.

Great toy! I really appreciate Hasbro tackling the challenge of delivering us a G1-ish Wreck Gar and I declare that they have done really well. The greatest highlight is Wreck Gar's face sculpt. It is divine. Overall he is an awesome homage to G1 Wreck Gar
Main gripes are
-front wheel is very loose so he doesn't roll happily and can look like its whacked out of alignment.
-front wheel despite being loose cannot be detached at all, woulda liked a tyre shield like the original movie.
-bit where toes lock together in alt mode looks terrible, but i'll accept this over robot mode instability.
-paint app lies on official box art, photoshop enhancement is one thing, outright omission advertised paint apps is another.

That's why I prefer TakaraTOMY's toy photography. Usually far less doctored than Hasbro's and looks way closer to the actual toy.

It's a nice looking Wreck-Gar in both modes, but transforming his legs back to motorbike mode reached the "throw it down in frustration" stage for me. I look forward to a repaint for the Junkion riding mode.

For those of you that own him, are there any problems with your shoulder joints? I found this over at TFW (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/362276-shoulder-damage-rts-wreck-gar.html), and hope it is not widespread.
Oh and apparently you can rotate the wheel on his arm to make it similar to a shield.
TFW user Crimson Dynamo
I just got my RTS Wreck-Gar and noticed that the wheel on his shoulder is removable. It's connected via a ball joint and a tab to hold it in place. You can either unhitch the tab and rotate the wheel down like a shield, or remove it altogether and have him hold it in his hand as a melee weapon.

My shoulders are just fine.
Nice trick with the wheel, I didn't notice that before. The illusion only works when his arm is bent at the elbow though, but it looks awesome!

Yeah the shoulders on mine are fine too.
I didn't even notice that about the wheel being able to be removed - quite clever! It's very well hidden in the abundance of Hasbro grey. :p
As for the shield part - hmm, it's ok I guess.

My one has the stress marks (though not to the same severe degree) on his right shoulder, hopefully it will be alright and doesn't break, but it is annoying as it's making his shoulder a bit loose as well, other than that, he's fine.
I think the bike mode is a bit compromised as you can clearly see his waist piece and hands, and his head is clearly visible on the underside (although these are only minor complaints). It's a fairly big bike and I like how his weapon is stored.
Robot mode is really awesome, his weapon looks great, only gripe I have is his knees, as they can't straighten fully. The range of motion for his head is limited due to the size of his head and his facial hair, but the sculpting is really good. Overall a good figure, with an easy transformation making him fun to play with, I'm just worried about his shoulder (which seems to be a hit and miss).

Still haven't been able to find anywhere online to order Jazz or Grapple/Grappel from -- if anyone in Sydney is planning on doing an online order, mebbe we can combine? I rarely shop online, but the continual lack of finding new stock is seriously giving me the poo-poos (Hasbro's failure to reply to my questions about stock distribution isn't alleviating this frustration either :().
5FDP: did you want to add a United Wreck-Gar from my order? The only problem is that HLJ might ship him in the same box as the other United stuff I've ordered, or they might ship him separately. Chances are it might come in the same box as it's just pre-orders atm, but there's no guarantee. PM me if you're interested. :)

Great toy. Love the robot mode, especially the head as others have said. I did initially give up on back-to-bike transformation, but after a quick check of the manual, have been able to do it quickly and accurately since.
Alt mode is a bit big if displayed as such next to line mates, but a necessary size for riding one's self.
I've already got two and intend to build an army with this one.

I adore Bike Transformers and this is another reason to continue that love. None-the-less, it's Wreck-Gar to boot!
The alt mode looks very convincing with all the right proportions and, for the most part, hidden robot parts. Looking closer will show his hands visible and the head peeking our at the bottom of the engine. Otherwise that is a minor niggle to an awesome bike mode.
Conversion is always interesting with bikebots and this follows the trend. Unexpected, twists and bendsthat slowly reveal curvy humanoid proportions that would do Animated proud. The right leg was a little tricky but given enough give it converts properly.
Robot mode is just wow. I mean really... WOW! This is Wreck Gar indeed. That head with that freaky stache, his orange, brown, teal colour scheme is just perfect. I also adore the assymetry with the legs and the wheel on one side of his shoulder. His little windmill, sorry, blade is terrific. Articulation is top notch that makes for a believable robot mode. If I have one complaint, is that his head is a little sunk in, I would have liked it, if it was able to pop up a little more. but...
Overall this is a winner for me and my favorite figure for the year so far. Also, finally glad I found it after a month of searching.

frekin love this toy, didn't realised the front wheel could be dislodged, which WG can hold and use as a shield. I love how his moustache feels so nice and that his head can be easily removed. Wish the gears could of been colored.

This figure's full of win and awesome. Not sure if I'd say it's the best bike-former ever, but definitely one of the most successful updates in the 'classics' line. They have absolutely nailed the character.
The transformation's not complex but I do find it quite fiddly to get back into bike mode.

Still I am real happy with my purchase and look forward to a mini army :D Yay~!
Found it initially dificult to get the bike mode all lined up from memory - but I figured it out and now it's good fun :D
Can't wait to get a second to repaint and I'll then have more proper junkions - and it's great how they can be made to look different by using diferent configurations of the wheel on his left arm. Even better of course is that he can hve it as a shield all old-school style:

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who sees the pinwheel. lol
Overall a good figure and has all that wreck-gar needs. Left leg can't straightenr completely due to the license plate, but meh. I think the automorphing on the right leg isn't that fantastic either.

There are some tabs the stick out of one side of the wheel, just near the metal pin. A straight piece on top with a small gap between the straight piece and pin. The gap clips onto the outside tab on his arm, although it's pretty loose, I find mine drops off at the drop of a hat (or shield).

yeah Ive seen that and it's the place Ive been trying to slip it into but as you said it just drops on its own /doesnt stay in place at all, and I dont wanna keep doing it coz I might break that tab (knowing how poor plastic QC these days) and ruin the figure - already I see cracks on the plastic that holds the handlebars of the bike and it's kinda alarming:(. This has got to be one of my favourite releases on the classics line - It captures the character (in both robot and vehicle mode) very well without compromising on articulation and detail (though he can't turn left or right whilst in vehicle form).
As you can see from Deceptic's pcis, Wreck-Gar tends to rid any guilt of having, double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, sextuple, septuple, or even octuple of his mold.
Being a junkion warrior, his display values doesn't erode even if you break him, or have him in parts.
A highly recommended figure. Hats off Hasbro/Takara.
