New member introduction
Hello everyone. I just joined this forum this morning. Made a couple of posts in some other threads but I'm not sure if I was supposed to post here first:o
Used to love the Transformers cartoon back in the 80's and had a few toys then (Sludge, Wheeljack, Thundercracker, Grimlock) but that's about it.
I have been eyeing off the Takara Masterpiece line for quite some time but just recently found out about the new scale they are introducing and thought it might be a good time to start collecting.
In the last couple of days I have placed orders for MP-17, MP-18 and MP-19 and Year of the Horse MP-10 this morning. Will order MP-12 and MP-14 next payday.
At the moment I think I will concentrate on collecting characters that appeared before the animated movie but I wonder if that will change...

Hi there man ... The masterpiece line is a very good starting point ! they are amazing figures ,...with mp12,14 just be careful as there is a few KO around now of them figure... So look at the KO section of the forum so you know what to look out for ....As I started before in other thread , it a great time to collect the masterpiece line as a lot of the figure are being reissued and the prices are quiet reasonable compare to crazy after market prices like on ebay...

Welcome dude! The masterpiece line is awesome. Easily the best thing going on in the toy collecting community today (subjective obviously).
There are a lot of great toy lines beside masterpiece though and not many people can resist collecting more than one. As is the case with my collection. I was never gonna collect Alternators/Binaltech or Animated figures. Or Beast Wars figures for that matter, but obviously that changed :o

I should have mentioned in my intro that I am a huge Dinobots fan also.
As well as collecting the "new scale" Masterpiece line I would like to get as many Dinobot figures as possible.
Looks like that means getting 3rd party stuff as there just doesn't seem to be a huge amount from Hasbro/Takara. Why is that?
Also for you guys collecting the Masterpiece line how many copies of each figure do you normally buy? (e.g. 1 to put on display and another to keep in box etc)
Personally I want to take mine out of the box and put them on display but do they retain much resale value if opened?
