Robot Mode
Wanna know why Wheeljack is so small in the picture? Because every time I took a photo up close Wheeljack appeared as a flare because he is so white with nothing breaking it up! All the rumours you’ve heard about Wheelkjacks lack of paint apps are true. They’ve given him the windshield on the gut yet its white, his hands are white – everything is plain white! Worst looking Wheeljack we’ve had for years (if you don’t count the Tiny Titans one).

Vehicle Mode
Certainly his redeeming mode. Looks really good and is very faithful in shape, colour and concept to the Wheeljack character. Very nice indeed if still somewhat plain looking.

Transformation
It’s Combiner Wars – you kids all know what to do by now. ;)

Overall
This figure is really brought down by the crappy boxy robot mode with no wings and no paint apps. I might have to hit up M-Bot on tips on how to paint him. If you are after a good Wheeljack go grab the Generations, Prime or Masterpiece versions. This figure is only recommended if you like collecting G1 inspired characters or want to make Sky Reign. Even then, I’ll definitely be keeping him in his cool car mode.

If it was a legion toy, I would totally buy one.

Nice car mode but damn... that bot mode is an abomination. I'll be sticking with Generations.

Although times like this reminds me why I'm personally glad that Aaron Archer isn't at the helm of the TF brand anymore, cos this toy would be called "Downshift," and "Wheeljack" would be a Stunticon. :rolleyes:

I'm on the fence with this one, although I'll pick him up if I see him in the shops- just not sure he's worth tracking down online.

I'm curious to see what level of yellowing will occur over time too.

that makes a huge difference.

I'm still happy with my Prime/Generations combo for now, so I'll pass on this one (like the other 7 random Autobots) but at least they made this one's chest plate look somewhat like Wheeljack's traditional depictions (paint not withstanding.)

Man, it's hard looking at him without his wings!

There is an upgrade kit being sold on shapeways, doesnt transform with him though.
