A question on variations and their rarity and value - ROTF Mudflap example
Hey there, I got to wondering..
You know how the recent ROTF Mudflap came in two variations - one with the TRAX numberplate and the other with MUDFLAP?
Well, is it likely that in the future the TRAX mudflap will be the rarer, and therefore more valuable of the two?
For example, I have LOTR figures with variations. A figure is released with the wrong eye colour in its first batch and then subsequent batches are released with the corrected eye colour - it is the first 'wrong' batch that ends up being more collectible and valuable because of its limited release in numbers compared to the 'right' version.
Would you agree?
I don't know what the ratio of TRAX/MUDFLAP rotf releases would be. It depends how early in production the change is made.
FYI Mine has the TRAX number plate.
