Beast Wars
Hello
Well i am about to start the exciting task of collecting some Transformer Beast Wars figures and i would like to know if there are any KOs i should look out for?
Im not to familar with the beast era toy line, just the cartoons so any help would be appriciated!
thankyou:)

I only know of the original 1996 Rattrap KO. He is a completely grey figure with no paint on.
-
All of the knock offs that I have seen over the ages, they have all had pretty much no paint on them. That isnt to say that they are not out there, other might have seen some, but as far as I can tell they are like that.
Probably best to check a TF identification site before you buy it if you are unsure.

Lots of different ones out there, but these are 2 that I use.

There used to be chinese 'oversized' figures, but when they're displayed with the card, usually under the name of Space Warriors or something of the like, they're easy to pick as fakes.
Glad to hear people are getting into the Beasts even now, 10 years on.

Thanks guys, im glad that there does not seem to be any high qulity KOs so i wont be fooled!
Im curious at how long it will take me to collect them i only what the characters from the cartoon, but theres like 3 or 4 varients of each!
Ive made a list and it turns out i want about 50-60 bots!
Im still un-decided on wether to purchse loose or MISB, but ive decided to get as many in newish condition with a box even tho i will open them all:)
I think the hardest set for me to get is the AXALON 5-pack from botcon, does anybody here have that set? and will i have to break the bank to afford it?

Hardest cartoon cast to get in no particular order that I can think of:
X-9 Ravage
Rattrap (1996)
Optimal Optimus
TM2 Megatron
Air Razor (none Video version)
Terrorsaur (complete)
Note: TM1 Megatron isn't rare but the Hasbro version suffers from a type 'Gold plastic syndrome'. Get the Takara one which is not only more common but better.
-
Then it's trying to get them at a reasonable price. Best advice I can give is be patient. Good ones pop up every now and then, but you've gotta wait for them.
-
does anyone have a comparison pic of the video and non-video version of airrazor please?

Until I, or someone else, takes a photo of both together, these links show the darker colour scheme of the Video version to the regular version.
