Man, I wish I could get there some time in the next day or so! Looks like the earliest I'll be free is Sun morning! Hope they don't sell out of the new Encore stuff... :(
Well, my wife was in a "family excursion" mood, so we hopped on the train to town, and I ended up seeing ShinTokyo after all. Better stuff than I expected tbh, as I've never looked there since I started collecting officially (3 years ago). I didn't even consider we had a local Henkei importer (yeah, I know, pretty dumb of me =oP), and with Deluxes at $29 each (for most of them, the rest were $45 less 20%), I ended up with my first 3 Henkei figures (Galv, Smoke & Lambor). I had only chosen Galv & Lambor, my wife was digging the colour scheme of Smokescreen, which I was in two minds about (as I'm not a fan of having re-paints/moulds in my collection), but when the missus is telling you to get a Transformer, why not, eh? =oP
Funny thing; when I called 2 days ago, the guy said they had no Binaltechs, but they had Alternators. Turns out these "Alternators" they have are Binaltechs... Once again, a big rawr for ShinTokyo staff product knowledge... -.-
Anyhoo, anyone else curious about their sale, here's what I can recall seeing:
Henkei:
-Jetfire
-Inferno
-Sideswipe (Lambor)
-Sunstreaker
-Silver Streak
-Prowl (would've got if I didn't have the Hasbro)
-Galvatron
-Tankor
-Megatron
-Bumblebee
-Starscream
-3-pack Legends: Beachcomber/Brawn/Cliffjumper & Cosmo/Warpath/Wheelie.
-Dinobot
Binaltech: (Hundred a piece less 20% = more cookies than I'd like to pay)
-Arcee
-Skids
-Convoy
-Argent Meister
-Bluestreak
Encore:
-Pretty much all of them except Megs, Soundwave and Omega from what I could see.
Masterpiece:
-Megs
-Starscream (the Jap remake of Hasbro's, not MP-3)
-Ultra Magnus
-Skywarp
-Thundercracker
That's the majority of what they have, maybe a few bits 'n' pieces more (like a couple of Beast Wars things), so I hope that helps someone somewhere somehow.
Finally got a day off - yay - and I went to Shin Tokyo. Picked up Encore Bruticus and Cassettes for cheaper than what it would have costed from Robot Kingdom (I was VERY surprised actually!!!)
Then I went down to Galaxy Toys... sounds like some exciting things are gonna be happening there soon... esp for those of us who collect DCUC figures (I'm looking at you Gutsman!)
But I managed to score G1 Reflector from Galaxy Toys today - I'm over the moon! He's in such good condition!!
Finally! Arcee, Blazemaster, Swerve, Dead End, Mudflap and Stalker Scorponok at Target Hollywood Plaza.
Arcee, Scorp & Swerve at TRU TTP
Scorp & Swerve at Target TTP
Devvy @ K-Mart TTP
Legends Skids, Sideways, Tankor @ Myer TTP
Oooo... new Legends!!
Hollywood Target has 2x Stormclouds left for $22.49, and about 20x Silverbolts for the same price if anyone still needs him.
snapped up the last deluxe arcee from TTP ToyRus.
Dammit- no one is restocking anything new up here!
Same here in town =o( MUST... HAVE... NEW... WAVES!!! I can't wait for the next lot of Scouts! Still haven't found Ejector around here yet...
Any thoughts on Silverbolt? Just asking cause they were moving pretty fast, wouldn't want you to miss out. Also, just curious if you knew how much it would cost to post a HA BB up here pls? Or if you're heading into town anytime soon?
i think i'll go visit hollywood target on the weekend.at $20 its a pretty good xmas present.
I think ill give silverbolt a miss. Not sure about HA BB but id be thinking $10.00.
Normally id have contacts (or myself) going to Adelaide pretty frequently but at the moment the contacts are in the UK! So im unsure when ill be now next. If i knew when i was going down id be happy to deliver one to you.
i went into shintokyo on sunday 4th and noticed they restocked henkei mirage and i was so tempted to buy it but had already spent $400 at hlj.com (free express shipping promotion) and a few hundred from members on this forum, so decided not to.
it was marked at $39.90 and members price $34.90. i thought, i should be able to find it cheaper online.
today i was in norwood near the city, so said screw it, i'll buy mirage anyway and give shintokyo some more of my money thinking i'll support them a little since they're local.
but wtf? the price was raised by $5! I argued with the staff about this but they denied it all. annoyed by all this i left and didnt bother buying it.
so now i've decided they can go !@#$ themselves.
i actually paid $40 each for the henkei C-18/19 minibot attack/spy teams even when i knew i could get them cheaper from robotkingdom. they dont even have any chrome on them! rip off.
so i hate you shintokyo. go to hell.
My experiences with Shin Tokyo have been great! Sure, some of their staff don't always know what they're talking about, but that's no different to Kmart or TRU.
As for the price, maybe it was part of their sale? Maybe it was priced incorrectly on Sunday and someone else changed it? Dunno. All I do know is that $44.90 (which I'm guessing is the price you saw today) is what Henkeis usually cost there, so anything cheaper would have been a sale/mistake/bargain price.
yeah this is the only problem i've had with them so far. if they had admitted it being a pricing error then i would have been fine with that. but im pretty sure a few of the less popular henkeis were priced at $39.90 and not the usual $44.90.
it definately wasnt a sale price. those are yellow ticketed.
Finally! a new wave has arrived! Big W Renmark has Stalker Scorpinok, ARCEE (mine now) and Swerve. If anyone needs any of the new robot heros i think we have most of the new stuff but id have to check to confirm this.
Ejector and Nightbeat at Big W Arndale, $15.88.
Saw heaps of Silverbolts for $25 at Target Castle Plaza.
This is what I dont understand... When I got mine at Hollywood 2-3 weeks back, there was at least 20 Silverbolts. So is this just parents getting random TF's for their kids to shut them up, or is there a legion of undiscovered TF collectors in Adelaide? Cause even if every SA member on OTCA got one, they would still have some left unless there are some closet collectors around maybe? =oP
Found these 2-packs at Hollywood Plaza Target today, same price, and had 4 of each left.

I bought both packs, quite happy with the Air Raid/Storm Surge pack, but the Clocker/Hardtop pack had some QC issues, namely the two swinging plates on the back of Clockers legs look like they were moulded with much cheaper plastic (looks warped), and therefore don't actually clip where they are supposed to. I might return it, but as many here may know, it can sometimes be a bad move to return a 10 minutes to beer-o-clock figure, and end up with a dead on beer-o-clock figure =oP
I bought both these two packs too since the guys I wanted came in different packs
Air Raid looked cool on the back of the pack (and didn't disappoint either) whilst Storm Surge looked/is kinda lame (what's up with his arms/hands or lack thereof?)
I thought Clocker looked pretty ordinary (and still does) whist Hardtop was the one I really wanted in this pack... the pic on the packaging made him look awesome (which he is)!
Yeah you're not alone in your complaint about the clip things on the back of his legs... mine actually fell off a couple of times whilst transforming him, so I guess yours isn't an isolated incident - just a poor design and/or manufacturing process.
I feel kinda cheated spending $60 for both packs... the quality's just not really there - maybe worth $20/pack not $30
This plagued me many times when seeing this guy in a single pack from the Movie 1 line, I love his alt, and bot mode is cool, except for those poorly thought out arms... Such a shame, as it's my only main gripe on an otherwise cool Scout.
I quite like Clockers alt, but the most appealing part to me from his alt is entirely lost in bot (his bonnet/windscreen):( But yeah, Hardtop is a cool little guy for sure =o)
Hrmm... Both comforting and disappointing at the same time. Mine fell off the second I touched it, but after some messing I got it to stay there at least. I guess being an obvious widespread issue, probably not much point returning him, as it is out of site in both modes after all, which is possibly why QC didn't care about the issue.
Very agreed, but I kept putting them off from the Movie 1 line, then missed out, and the box they were displayed in was labelled in big letters "WHILE STOCKS LAST", which suggested they weren't a standard production run quantity, so I figured I'd regret it if I waited for a sale and they sold out beforehand. Oh well, as I tell my lovely wife, I don't drink, smoke, gamble, speed, do drugs etc etc, so Transformers are a much cheaper option (comparitively) =oP Even $50 for the lot would've been nicer, but in the end, still cheaper than them seperately (Toyworld wanted $19.95 each )
Lol, funny you say that, because after I posted that the other night, I actually reviewed the instructions (I usually attempt transformation without them), and found out I am supposed to slide the little grey bits back, presenting a crab claw-like look, which I thought was quite an improvement and quite suiting, being a sea-based alt and all =oP
ROTF Legends Skids and Sideways figures at Kmart TTP.
Not much happening in SA lately. Nothing new at all up here as of today.
It has been very dry of late. Hoping for some joy at tomorrow's KMart sale.
I saw HA Bumblebee at K-mart today but I am waiting until the sale starts tomorrow
For anyone that has the HA Bumblebee, is it any good? It will be my first Movie figure since Jazz from the first movie
I'm not buying anymore ROTF figs except for Legends... but I am definitely tempted by HA BB. It seems like the kind of figure I really would've wanted when I was a kid, so maybe I'll check out the sales tomorrow!
